Dearest and I have spent so much time looking at houses to purchase for our daughter. Well actually it is for our granddaughters but they are 2 and 9 months old! They kind of still need their mom! We sold our cottage in the spring and Dearest wants a house for them now, and daughter is all too eager to spend our money.
I am finding frustration in the whole thing because I am dragged from house to house showing all over the country side. I can't get excited because everything we see in our price range requires work.
We are living in a 140 year old farm house that needs work. We farm over 200 acres which takes all summer to do. I have no desire to purchase yet another property to spend any time I might have on fixing it up.
Today I feel like ditching the daughter, adopting the grandchildren and spending the money on me. Sounds great to me! Haha.

Thanks for the encouragement Kristen.
The house deal fell through but we look at a different house tomorrow. I am feeling better about this one as the house needs little work and is closer to us. All the same all that money!!

She sounds just like mine. Did the same things at the same age. She has 3 daughters now. And doing alot better. Has been going to church regularly now and remarried. They finally have their own place after living in our little house for a year or so. It feels great! I still keep the youngest grand while school's out.
I really do know what it's like. I have been there too many times. I finally told her this last time she moved out that she could not come back. And I have to stick to it. I will for my own sanity.

Kristen I'm with you on this one, but Dearest hates seeing granddaughters cooped up in an apartment. My daughter is 23. She is bi-polar and has made many mistakes in her life. At 17 she left home because she hated religion in her life.Not following any Bible Based counsel she went down ever dirt road one could go. Hense two babies, not married, he doesn't work ................................... That being said, we worked hard, darn hard to get where we are. We also have four other children and no problems. Dearest says she will pay rent to own. Yep I'll be dead before we no longer own this place. It is just frustrating and I'm just venting. Thanks anyway.

Marlyn-neleh may I ask how old your DD is?... I am sorry, is it YOUR responsibility to buy her a house? Is that how they do in in Canada? Man I wish I was raised there!! I can't believe some of the things I read on here about people ENABLING their kids. I have had my OWN place (10 acres) since I was 22!! I am now 31... yes I wish I had a few kids but I never had the opportunity. I did things the RIGHT way. I am still paying my own way through school, paying my own bills, and to tell you the truth it bugs the CRAP out of my parents that I DO NOT need them like my siblings do. Come on!! Let her grow up!

Marlyn-nelah, I know what ya mean! We had to house our DD and her kids for years. Theya re finally on their own and it feels great! I still keep the youngest grand during summer. But I hope you can find a home for them that is in your price range and that doesn't need much work. I will be thinking of ya'll and pray the right place comes along soon.
