Yesterday my 17 year old son Liam was driving on a back road and found a puppy, in a crate, dumped on the side of the road. He tried to find it's owner, with no luck, then he and a friend took the puppy to a no kill shelter. The shelter highlighted the dog on it's website and even named the puppy "Hemi". That was the name Liam wanted to name our new puppy. I'm so grateful that that is the kind of person Liam is, and soooo glad the shelter was able to take the puppy because other wise I'm sure we would have kept it. There are good kids out there!!

We were at a home show yesterday and the shelter was there with several dogs and Liam was really looking for "his' puppy, but we think it was adopted, no one has recieved a call about him. Thank you all for your wonderful thoughts.

Thank your son for me, please. This world could do with a lot more young responsible, animal lovers like Liam. Hurray for Liam.

What a wonderful story...I think if children knew they were special and appreciated a lot more than most of them are that they would strive harder to do good and kind things more often in todays society.

Yes I am pretty proud, and his friend left his number, and if the puppy is not adopted soon, then Liam's friend will be able to take him. This has a happy ending!

Good for him. Not alot of kids would have done that. I am so glad there are no kill shelters around, too. And who would have dumped a poor little puppy out in a crate? How awful. What would have happened to the poor pup if your son had not come along? Give him a pat on the back for me, please.
