Ok, this is on the MUCH lighter side of things..even dare I say the grosser side of things?
No doubt, this journey is rough but we have moments, lots and lots of moments that are breathless, beautiful, hilarious and full of childhood innocence. This is one of those.
Aria will surely murder me later for this but heck isn't this part of what being a Mama is all about?
"Hey Mama! You know what? You don't want to scratch your butt with your fingers. Cuz if you do, your fingers smell kinda weird."
She was so serious but impish at the same time. Despite my best efforts, I was in stitches. I told her something to the tune of, "Well Aria, that is so observant! Tell you what, how about you not scratch your butt with your fingers anymore and in the meantime let's go wash your hands!"
She gave me that gorgeous Aria smile and said simply, "Yea, OK Mama!"
We're all so lucky to have her!! ~julia

Posted - Jan 13 2010 : 5:56:14 PM Julia, You need to video tape these things. That is so funny. I can picture you both. Aria with a very serious face and you trying your best not to laugh. She truly is a gift.

Posted - Jan 10 2010 : 10:07:34 AM ROTFL!!!! Love it! Thanks for giving me a laugh today :) Camden (my 4 year old) says things like that quite often and I really regret not writing some of them down. I need to start keeping a journal of all of it. |

Posted - Jan 10 2010 : 08:38:08 AM The smiles are so precious that come from our little ones. It can be so,so hard to hide the giggles they bring in all seriousness. Yes, you are amazingly lucky and probably a lot more aware than those who can take every moment for granted. Treasure every moment!
