I'm very thankful for having my father in my life,my mom for teaching me thru example what not to do in relationship & lifestyle choices, for passing on her creativity to me,and for the times she made me laugh. (It was a very complicated relationship & a bittersweet one at that)
Very grateful for my great grandmother, who was the only grandparent I ever really had & instilled a love of elderly people in me.

I am definitely thankful for mine and hubby's families. As I get older, I find myself overlooking all their faults and grateful for them in my life.

Absolutely...I have a very unique family when it comes to my in-laws, and I feel very, very blessed by them...I have 2 mil's--my husband's parents divorced then remarried, and my mil and step mil are best friends, and my fil and step fil are very close, too. In turn, they each had a son, so my husband and my sil have 2 1/2 brothers and we are all one big happy family that celebrates each and every holiday together--ALL together. There's never any argument over "who's" house we will be going to for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc...

And, both my mil's ("Nana" and "Gramma" respectively)watch Violet each a day during the week. It's wonderful for them, and wonderful for her that she gets to spend time with her grands so early on in her life.

And, I'm very blessed by the way they've accepted me--large families can be sometimes stifling, especially to an only child like me, but they've allowed me my distance, and they've always welcomed me with open arms.

Ok...this will sound weird...but even with my alienated family.. I am thankful for the lessons I learned from them in how not to do things and thankful that I am able to preservere with my own. Crazy but true!! I have learned to be grateful, even with the hard lessons in life.

Never has there been a day go by, that I am not most thankful for my family, the one I came from, and all my sisters and brothers, of course my Mama and Daddy, along with all of my relatives. Then there was my late husbands family, his parents and older brother too have passed, but when they were on this earth, they were always here if we needed them. Now there is my children and their children, and I could not ask for any better. Yes, I am thankful and always will be !!!

There is a not a day goes by in my mind - in fact, when I wake in the early hours, the first thing I do is pray....I ask God's blessings on my family, and give thanks. I look at my grandbabies, and feel so honored to spend time in their presence now while they are so small and just getting started. I give thanks for my sister, who has always been there.....so here is to our families! Thank God for them.
