Yup, my son is home on leave!!!!! Doing the happy dance!!
Here is a picture of him while we were hiking on the Bobcat trail up Magalloway here in NH.

Although it was a short visit, we had a great time! Looking forward to his homecoming late fall.

Thanks Kris! I will pass on your good wishes
I am thankful he is able to rest up as well. He is very much like me, needs to be in the mountains. . . we draw our strength from them. Nothing beats sitting up there taking in the view!!

Thank you Julia and Cheryl Poor guy, every time he turned around there was mom hugging him, kissing him, LOL!!! On the ride up his gf had a bet going . . . "you won't even have the car stopped before your mom will be leaning inside the car window hugging and kissing you!" his reply was, "naw, she will just pull me out the door as soon as I open it". . . she won the bet!

Cheryl, hope your son makes it home to see you in August! Please thank him from all of us for his service!! I so agree with you, they leave as children and come back as adults. They are all so brave and we so appreciate all that they do!!

So happy for you Joanna getting to see your son and give him a big old bear hug must have been wonderful. My nephew is Air Force and still in Northern Iraq and expected home in August from his first tour over there. I know his mom and our whole family will be so happy when he comes home. God Bless and protect your son and any others serving their country. Very brave young men and women!

What a blessing we have to have young men and women give of theirselves to protect us. My prayers and blessing to your son!

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

I know exactly how you feel. It has been a very tough time for me as well. I hope your son is able to come home and see you soon! Believe me, once they have the opportunity to take leave the only place they want to go is home. Please thank your son from all of us for his service, it is a great sacrifice he is making and we deeply appreciate what he is doing.

I thank your son for keeping all of us free. He surely is a handsome man. Let your son know that he shall be in my prayers.

Thank you Everyone! I will pass on your messages to him for sure!!
We really made the most of the time we had together. . that is why he is so tired!! LOL!! I miss him so much while he is gone, so we do our best to stay in touch when we can. The pictures help both of us cope too. Needless to say just how proud I am of him!!

Hi Joanna,
Will you please give him a huge hug and a sincere "THANK YOU" for his service. So wonderful he's in your presence if even for just a little bit.

So happy for you, and please tell him thank you from my family. My son has been home with his family now for 18 months after doing a double tour in Iraq. We had a huge party and everyone was here, I am so thankful for all our soldiers!

He is exhausted for sure. Although he wanted to do this hike, being able to see "green" and breath fresh mountain air did him a world of good. I felt so bad for him, our times are different. Over there he would be asleep while we are awake and vise versa. Catching up on sleep for the next few days is on his agenda for sure.

We were fortunate that the sun was out for the hike, as soon as we came down and got into the car the rain started.
