Well Farmgirls, we went to the ortho today to have her leg evaluated after 5 weeks in the full cast and the news was mixed. She got to get a new cast: Beautiful sky blue. It covers her knee but is cut in the back so she can walk on it. It is gortex so she can go swimming! She can take a bath and do some fun stuff. She'll be able to walk on it and we got her a little sandal for it so she won't slip all over the place. All super things.

She has to have it for another 5 1/2 weeks though! That's sort of the bummer. Mid July is when we can more than likely plan to have if off for good. I was telling friends about my microwave mentality where I just want her leg popped into a cast, hit a magic button and 30 seconds later have everything nice and healed. It just doesn't work that way...dag-nab-it!

She's in great spirits..as usual. She just makes the best of it. She's not too thrilled about walking yet..it's been 5 weeks after all...so we'll see how she does with that. I'll post some pictures AND I'll include some pictures of her preschool graduation next week! Too cute!!

Again, thank you all so much for keeping her/us so close. It means so much...~julia

Julia, this is a good thing but I understand you are tired of all the set backs happening all the time. Please, please take good care of yourself, try to go more often to your sewing room and try to relax.
I will pray for you and every one in your family.
Hugs,
Corinne

Oh, my sister-friend, I am doing a little happy dance with you and sweet Aria! Every little bit of normalcy is cause for celebration! And what's more normal than a kid enjoying splashing around in a pool on a hot summer day! Cheers to you all!

YEYyyyy swimming! Did I read that right? She has a cast that she can get wet? How cool is that. Swimming is so good for the body, spirit and morale. It is so wonderful to hear how well Aria heals with so much going against her. As it is so delightful to read your cheerfulness in such a struggle. I hope your family is celebrating how great you all are.

Real progress! It can be so frustrating for them (and us!) though when it takes longer than we think it should!

That is so neat that she can at least swim and take a bath, even if it takes awile for her to walk. Maybe the pool will give her some good exercise.

That is definitely progress. I can relate to the microwave mentality, we always want instant results, especially for the kiddos.
