Posted - Dec 24 2008 : 10:38:26 AM Happy Holidays to everyone!! I just thought I'd send a quick update to let you all know that Aria is doing very well. We had to spend a little time in the hospital not too long ago but it wasn't a big deal. Her treatments are going well and she's staying nice and healthy! We are fast approaching her year anniversary. I know, can you believe that? She's been on chemo for almost a year and has only about 16 more months to go! Yesterday we had a clinic visit with chemo and full exam and her oncologist is just so pleased with her progress.
I want to also mention that I've forgotten who sent us several wonderful things that Aria was too sick to enjoy several months ago but is LOVING now. For example, someone sent us a Beatrix Potter tea set. Well, I've been serving hot chocolate in that and the kids just LOVE it!! We've been using it every single day (no lie) for over a month now. There are several dolls sent that both Aria and Rianna play with all the time now. Books, blankets and games! Oh Farmgirls, just thank you so much for reaching out to us. It meant the world to me then and continues to mean the world to me now!!!
Much love to each and every one of you! Happy happy holidays and may 2009 bring you to Farm Fair so we can meet in PERSON!!! Much love and warmth, Julia Hayes

Posted - Jan 04 2009 : 12:36:46 PM I'm so glad "I" was able to get off the window sill :) Helping others to be happy makes me happy. I'd honestly forgotten about the tiny tea set until you mentioned it. Several people who knew I'd sent the EasyBake oven asked me how Aria is doing and will be glad to tell them she's doing well with the treatments. I'll email you about the silverware, really just need to know what all you want. Mismatched makes it much easier to have the pieces that are useful. I keep two sets in the drawer now, like the forks better on one and butter knives on the other. Used to all be mismatched and we'd each have our favorites. When it's used all the time, tarnish is not an issue. I know putting them in the dishwasher does wear off a bit of the silver, but at thrift store prices it's okay. One wears out, it becomes a decorative plant stake-better than a stick or dowel. It's meant to be used, not saved for company or a day that may never come. many hugs to you and the family! |

Posted - Jan 04 2009 : 10:02:11 AM Ronna!! you are such a DARLING!! You have been sitting on our kitchen window sill with us for weeks and weeks in the form of that tea set. The kids and I are having so much fun. Not only that but Aria is totally into Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter in general right now. ADORABLE. We are also so enjoying the easy bake oven. Oh...such wonderful wonderful things from you!!
Your emails...my dear friend, no..it isn't you...It is ENTIRELY me and my lame-o-ness. I did get your emails about the silver. I can't believe I never responded and feel like a complete scummy-crum-crum. You were on my mind, "oh, I need to write to her..." and then one thing happened and down in the email bank your emails went. I am so sorry! This is my very long-winded way of saying YES!! Please let me know what you are willing to get rid of in terms of the silver. I'm looking for mix and match sets...nothing too fancy. Let me know prices too!
So much love to you!! ~julia

Posted - Jan 03 2009 : 5:07:59 PM Julia, I believe the tea set was in one of the boxes I sent. Know I had one set aside for her and it's not here anymore. For whatever reason, my private emails don't seem to come through to you. So nice to see how healthy and happy Aria is now. I still believe strongly that my wonderful Dad is watching over and helping her through this long journey. May this year be as smooth and healthy as possible for all of you. I look forward to the new issue of MJF to read more about Aria |
