Just want to pipe up and mention that my mum and stepdad hosted a kid (and then later his little sister)from New York City throughout the nineties through the Fresh Air Fund.
It was a wonderful experience!
DJ had never seen a farm, never been swimming or to a lake, and was just in heaven for the time he was here every summer. Everyone still keeps in touch, and DJ (now 21) was just up here last month to visit.
"Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world."
