Posted - Jun 12 2008 : 07:27:29 AM Sweet Aria had to be admitted to Sacred Heart yesterday, she spiked a fever and her counts were way down (Julia could I am sure provide a much more accurate description!). In any case she is in good spirits and could use all of our collective love today as she rests up (Julia and Doc too- can you imagine doing the ER thing with three kids and a great sense of humor?).
We are loving you Julia, Doc, Rio, Aria and Rhianna.... Happy Birthday Rio- you are an awesome big brother and a cool guy!!!

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 8:46:50 PM So glad to know Aria is home and doing well. The few of my family/friends who know of her illness have asked how she's doing now. The ups and downs of fighting until it's gone for good and all the days will be good for everyone. Thanks for letting us know the update. |

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 7:38:42 PM Golly, I haven't checked in for such a long time!! THANK YOU all for such wonderful warm wishes! We are just terrific. Aria got to come home in time for Reo's jumping castle party..it was actually not a b-day party but an end of school year party. B-day pool party happens next month! In any case, the castle was huge fun and I will post some pictures. I'll also update you all on what's going on with Aria's treatment.
Suffice it to say, she is doing really well...just as well as can be expected. This fever thing is just what happens. No one and I mean no one was rattled by it in the ER or the inpatient unit. It is simply what happens when you have cancer. I'll explain more later....
Aria is now bald. I shaved her head almost 2 weeks ago. She was shedding everywhere and it was starting to stick in her nose and mouth. She was completely cool with me shaving it. She looks quite adorable despite what an incredibly hard reminder it represents. Reo thought the hair cut was so cool that I shaved his head too! What an awesome big brother he is!
Farmgirls..my love to you!! We are actually getting to have some serious fun and some real joy to our days, which is why I've been absent...wonderful thoughts right back at each of you!! ~julia
