Good thoughts needed here please! Aria had to be admitted on Saturday morning with a fever. It is a common thing to happen, fevers that is, when the body gets immuno-suppressed. She basically has no immune system right now due to the chemo, which is also normal, but a huge drag nonetheless. So, they have stopped chemo until her counts improve and then we'll start giving it to her at about 1/2 the dosage. I'm learning that this is just the name of the game. She gets to be home for a few months at a time until counts tank and then she is in the hospital for a week or so and then back home...back and forth and back and forth...She is receiving IV fluids and antibiotics. Overall, she is in great spirits and is just going with it. Reo is also doing well with the idea. He actually doesn't mind going to the hospital in the least; plenty of TV and toys in the playroom. The baby, on the other hand is a TOTAL nightmare! She is now tall enough that she can open the door to the bathroom, which 3 months ago, she was not able to do. So, she's been pulling the emergency cords, turning the shower on herself, and stuffing paper towels in the toilet as well as rummaging through the garbage. Nice, oh so very nice! We're trying to figure out what to do with her. The easiest thing would be to get some baby-sitters on board but to be perfectly honest, we are trying to do as much of this as a family and having her separated feels icky. I know it is a sanity/survival thing but so much already feels icky that her being away is just one more thing.

We should be in the hospital for another few days at least, unless by some miracle things dramatically change today. Sure could use some good thoughts!

My love to you, ~julia hayes

Julia- This must be so frustrating for you. I know you want to keep everyone together, but sweetie, sometimes it's best to let someone help you. You have so much on your plate right now, giving someone the opportunity to come to your aid is totally appropriate.

Hugs to you and Aria.
