I've been away a while. Been building a house with husby. Been through 2 state of emergencies. One we were flooded out and had to evacuate. Then we had to move while our house wasn't ready yet. So into a trailer we went for 5 1/2 months. It was especially fun as our bathroom in the trailer didn't work so had to rent a port-a-potty. Imagine sitting there in the cold as the cold air rushes up the pipe (was sometimes 20 degrees out) and onto your freezing butt and you get to hear the coyotes in the near distance. And there you sit without your flashlight.
The next state of emergency was 45 inches of snow up here on the hill. And us without a snowblower. We have a backhoe but it was 30 miles away on a job site.
Way too too many stories to tell. But I am so glad to be back.
We are reading all about broiler chickens and I also want either araucanas or ameraucanas. Just a few to sell the blue eggs. Everyone likes something different and I think around here they might be a hit.
Hard to read up on material as we have our grandchildren with us now for a while. Wow....were my kids this noisy when I was younger or is my old age just noticing things more? Aw, who cares. We luv 'em.

Welcome back Rose Marie - nice to hear you have made it to your farm! Have you found any community groups to join in the area? Perhaps a local poultry society?! I look forward to hearing more about your new place!

Welcome back, Rose Marie. Sounds like things have been exciting. Were you flooded out in that big rain at the end of June? That was really something. Nice to see you around again.
