We went to Kentucky for a church homecoming, and took some time to check out properties near Irvine that we saw on Zillow. Somehow our GPS got confused in the mountains, but we found the property I had my eye on purely by accident. It is everything that I want - a view, quiet, and a small house. The only problem is that we aren't ready to retire for anot her couple years, and can't afford two mortgages. I hope the LORD will keep it for us!

Yesterday we expected bad weather, but during the day it was decent. I'd set myself the task of clearing out the foodstuffs my son left in the pantry and fridges when he moved out. I took out 3 garbage bags full of hot sauces and such, recycled when I could, and cleaned the insides.
Then in a spring cleaning mood, I began sweeping and moving furniture around. This used to be my mother-in-law's apartment and I wanted a change so the exchange students can have friends over.
Then I set up my sewing machine and added binding to a quilt. Then went to see the high school stuents in Mamma Mia! Whew! I fell asleep during Svengoolie.

Oh,good news about his knee! Be careful with the chopper!

My sweetie, the gadget guru, got himself a chopper/slicer and tried to use it for the first time tonight with a tomato. As you can see, there was an injury. He'd already gotten his knee worked on this morning, and did not have as much pain (or bleeding).

We got to Frankfort early before our candy factory tour, so made a detour to Daniel Boone's grave above the city.

Looks like Maysville to me. It is a wonderful river town with a rich history

I believe we were in Maysville, KY. I could be incorrect.

It's funny, Marie is older, has no children, and still has dark hair. I'm younger, 3 kids, and am "winter blonde."
Is Mother Nature saying something?

How wonderful to get to spend time together, when you live so far apart. I love your picture , hello Marie and Vanessa. Happy New Year to you both.

My sister Marie (churunga), traveled to the wilds of Kentucky to dogsit while we were on vacation. Today we were shopping and had a great time.

Hide and seek for seniors. We were playing a card game tonight when I suddenly realized that my cellphone was nowhere near. I had my husband called it, and we looked everywhere, including the fridge. I finally went into the sunroom, and heard the Dark Shadows theme under a pile of boxes that my husband cleared off the table before dinner. I have no proof that he knew what he was doing.

Vanessa, I completely understand what you mean. Lately I have been struggling to keep my indoor plants alive. My current one is losing a lot of color. I am really hoping it has to do with winter rather than me just killing it lol. It still looks alive so I think I am doing ok.

I usually have a brown thumb. In the foreground are plants I separated from a basket. Unfortunately they are a bit dry.
