Hi girls -

A friend emailed to let us know that friends of theirs are moving to another county and selling their working dairy farm and house in Westmoreland County, PA. She describes both as being in move-in condition. They have already moved their milking herd and would like to sell their property asap.

I was pressed for time yesterday, therefore unable to type in any specifics. Here is some of what the listing says:

"Successfully operating dairy farm with the potential for dairy or beef cattle, horses, and other small livestock.

"Newly constructed two-story frame home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths which sits beautifully on 28.5 acres. (More information is included, but I will just send it to you if you are interested - sounds quite lovely!)

"Outbuildings include:

"124'x '48' lime bedded free stall w/swing 8 milking parlor (all free stall and milking equipment are removable and sale negotiable).

"50' x 30' shed w/concrete shop area and storage loft

"10' x 20' pavilion style building (previously used to house calves on milk) with electric and close water access

"10' x 50' x 20' crib

"Entire farm is fenced in 6-strand high tensile with exception of both driveways. The ground is both farmable and ready to be grazed. Additional ground may be available for rent if necessary.

"Two tractors are also available for sale, as well as two harvesters with grass and corn heads."

If anyone is interested, please email me and I will be happy to send you the information sheet with more specifics and contact information. :)

I was raised in Wesmoreland county until the age of nine. Would love to move back, but dont want to be a dairy farmer! Still, I'll email you for more info. Who knows?!

Thanks, Laurie... I sure wish we could do this, but my husband's all about steel and city. We're surrounded by farmland, pastures and all this wonderful country, but it's just not for him. Opposites attract, right? And he really does take me into consideration by helping making my gardening dreams come true... I'm a lucky, blessed girl, that's for sure. But man, would I love to own and operate a farm like this! :) I'm hoping it will go to a good family soon! Hugs - Nini
