Posted - Mar 27 2013 : 09:30:50 AM Where do we start? A man stopped here over 5 years ago, wanting to buy the large barn, and we said no. We however, need it torn down (too much to fix it up).
Has anyone ever done this?
I did locate this site, but not sure if I should advertise on this, craigslist, both, or somewhere else.

Posted - Aug 05 2013 : 04:51:37 AM With no takers on the barn, we are hiring someone to knock it down, and we hope to find homes for all, or most, of it. We may even keep some of the wood.

Posted - May 28 2013 : 8:42:05 PM I see you live in Ohio, are there any Amish living near you? There was an old church by us and the Amish had been hired to take it down, they did a wonderful job. Just a thought.

Posted - Apr 16 2013 : 2:46:32 PM You might try posting it as vintage wood. I have family that tore down an old barn and used the wood to make their kitchen island. We have used old wood to make cabinets, counters, or whatever else. If I had it my way we would only use old barn wood to build everthying inside. It turns out gorgeous when finished. There are people out there that would love to have the wood.

Posted - Apr 13 2013 : 08:07:23 AM I also have an old barn that I have been trying to sell.I was told it's an old engkish threshing barn built in the mid 1800s. Like you, I've tried craigs list but have had no luck. I love going inside and looking at it for it has the old hand hewn beams and wooden pegs for nails. Good Luck, I hope you find a buyer. |

Posted - Apr 12 2013 : 08:51:10 AM We listed the barn on craigslist, but only got one call so far. All they wanted was to build a small shed. I'll have to go back and update the post to explaining we want the entire barn gone. Wish us luck.

Posted - Mar 28 2013 : 05:51:33 AM I would advertise on Craig's list, your local paper and buy /swap magazine. Also che check with local area contractors because reclaimed wood is the "in " thing. You probably will basically have to give it away if someone has to tear it down. If you tear it down then you can sell the boards, beams and maybe the good shingles. But you could be sitting on those for

Is it feasible to reuse the barn wood to build a 'new' barn for your chickens, goats, etc. to your liking?
