Posted - Jul 29 2012 : 8:05:10 PM I love porches! I'd love to see the finished porch in a picture. Congrats on the new house. Marly

Posted - Jul 26 2012 : 7:07:47 PM Janet it IS the way I want it! I wouldn't let anyone talk me out of my porches. It isn't that big. The main level is under 2300 sq ft with a basement the same size. We don't have any "formal" rooms because they are a waste. We have a HUGE laundry room that will double as a family closet and it is right off the mud room. Our youngest son is special needs and may live with us forever so we took that into account (plus additional features for his safety) and in case a parent comes to live with us. It is very kid friendly and not fancy just comfortable for the six of us.

Posted - Jul 26 2012 : 5:48:57 PM Looks like it is going to be a big house. Glad you are getting what you want. Why build if it is not the way you want it?

Posted - Jul 26 2012 : 5:17:12 PM One of my favorite parts is my 8" x 65" front porch. I would not give at all on that one! It had to span the front and but under roof. We actually fired one builder who kept trying to talk me out of it! Porches and country are NOT an option! LOL!
