My husband have owned our property for almost 4 years, now. We go back and forth about selling it to get 'what we really want' (30-50 acres), but all of the wishy washy-ness has created pretty much 4 years of confusion and minor repairs. Pretty much doing what we need for resale.

Not anymore! We decided that if we stick to a really tight budget and step the farming up a bit, we can have our property paid off in 6 years!

It feels good to finally decide a path and stick to it. Have you all ever been in situations like this?

We have a lot of soil ammendments to do, a well to fix, and a fence to put up, but atleast we are at an understanding now.

Any tips?

Hope you all have a good morning:)

Much love.

Ashley- That is fantastic! I am so glad that you two are on the same page now! Keep moving forward and you'll be there in no time! We are only a year and a half out from buying property and maybe building a house. We finally got on the same page recently about that and it feels great! :) I can't wait to hear what you are doing with the property!

I've missed you, too Kris! My husband asked me about you a few months ago and I intended to message you, but I just plain forgot..lol. Maybe we can meet half way for coffee or tea (or lunch or cookies) after the holidays. I think we're only about 1.5 hours away from one another. It would be great fun:) Who knows, maybe we could get a group of farm girls!

We also listen to Dave Ramsey! I love it when people call in and say they are debt free. How liberating! I can't wait until we can call in one day.

I think I will start keeping a list on the fridge...that is a really good idea:) Thank you!

We follow Dave Ramsey for paying off bills. You might look into it if you aren't already. We have our bill list (snowball) on the fridge and I update it once a month. It provides a great visual for inspiration to stay on budget. We'll have two cars paid off this next year. Maybe posting a countdown to how long before the property is paid off. Also reward yourself along the way for periodic milestones, 6 months, 1 year, etc. Good Luck!
