Closing is set for our farm on November 30th. We have been assured by our loan person that *everything* is set to go with the loan on his end. However, we are still waiting for a new plat/deed map (county) to get done on the place and the realtor is thinking we might end up delaying closing because he's having a hard time getting ahold of the person who was ALREADY supposed to have this done.

Thanks for all your support, farmgirls! It is so nice to know there are people out there who can get excited about something as we can! :)

I will post (with pictures!!) after everything is official!

That would be an interesting figure. We were told our closing date would be the end of December 2010 no if ands or buts. I spent the whole New Years weekend worried sick something had made the deal fall through since we hadn't heard from the seller (Fannie Mae)and closing didn't take place when they said. It took them another month to get it done! But it got done and we moved this past February. You'll get yours done too I'm sure!

Unbelievable, Audrey! I'd like to know what percentage of closings actually happen on their original date...

Ack! Waiting is the hardest. We waited and waited too. Even the day of the closing we were waiting for the loan officer at the bank. After about 15 minutes the closing company called the bank and HE WENT ON VACATION! What? Had never even sent the papers over. Luckily the closing company had a great relationship with this guys boss and she was able to find the papers and send them over. Ai yi yi!

I think they just don't even need to tell you a date at all. Just call you the day it's all ready and on the table. I would be crazy right now. All this waiting is making ME nervous.

When you are waiting for the county/state/feds- it always seems to take forever, because they are not usually in a hurry, so waiting is the hardest. Onnce it's done though, and your in, your fustration will be forgotten. (at least until story time :) Good Luck with your new farm and Best wishes!

We heard from our realtor last night: the surveyor and all the people are working on the plat now and it could be up to a week delay in our closing. ACK!! Are you kidding? Why do they always wait until the last minute with these things? Anyhow....Guess we just wait and wait and wait some more. We're getting good at this waiting thing!

This is exciting news! It sounds like everything is going "smoothly" as it usually does with home closings. Don't ya just hate that hurry up and wait feeling?
