Of course this little eco-villiage is in Wales where I doubt they will let me immigrate just because I want to live off the land in a mild climate with like minded people.

"The story of this project is the story of Ecovillage Pioneers - an obsession with community and low impact living that began in Gower, Wales. We show the people growing their own food, building their own homes and learning to be self sufficient so come and join us."

I just watched the first 12 episodes and am enchanted! I'd love for my future children to grow up in a place like this!

Grace,

The place with the straw bale house was in Guffy to the west of Colorado Springs. If I can find the link, I'll post it or email it. I still love looking at it. The land was very pretty and the house was charming. It also had an interesting art studio.

My kind of living too. I would be in seventh heaven to live in a community like that!

Where was the place in Colorado??? I could do everything but build my house - I have the skills for the food, animals, forest and the food storage but I suck and building skills.

I would be so good at this - doing it here but would love the community - I am surrounded by McMansions and folks who do not know what the earth is other then something for them to waste.

I had even thought of turning my 35 acres into something like this.

I have been wanting to move to a place such as these - I have dial up so I will have to see video's when I go to the library. Thank you for sharing this information at least I know my thoughts are shared with others.

That is a very interesting web site. The inside of the house shown on the front page reminded me a of a house constructed of straw bales here in Colorado. I found it very charming but realistically I'm not quiet prepared to live totally off the grid.
