Posted - Sep 06 2011 : 3:11:58 PM So, this past weekend being Labor Day, I was harvesting more of my Knitted Red and Green Apples on My Tiny Farm.
However, when I got back to My Tiny Farm, just look who invited ALL of his friends! I mean My Tiny Farm was under siege of Scarecrows of all sizes and forms! What had started as a measure by ME to keep those crows away......
Ended up being a party that lasted well into the night!!
But what's a farm girl gonna do????? I am just wondering if other Farm Firls are wondering where the heck their scarecorws disappeared to????? Let me know if your scarecrow mysteriously disappeared from your yard because he just might be at my house jammin' with all the others!!
Thanks for checking into what's been going on lately at My Tiny Farm. I'll let you know what happens next! |

Posted - Sep 21 2011 : 10:44:35 AM There's that cute stove again playing host to a bunch of scarecrows. Your farm maybe tiny but it seems to be the center of town with all the activities. I wonder how those scarecrows got the word out "party at My Tiny Farm, tonight".

Posted - Sep 06 2011 : 4:13:24 PM Hi Tammy- I just made up this "recipe" for tiny knitted apples. Basically, just do a stockinette stitch with some small knitting needles in a small square. You make it as tall and fat as you want the apple to be. After you have your square or sort of rectangle, sew up the back side, do a running stitch around the bottom and close it off, stuff with regular batting, use a running stitch again around the top and draw it closed, then take the needle and run it down the inside of the apple to the bottom to make the figure round and fat like an apple. knot it out of sight on the bottom. Then I used a small piece of cinnamon stick as the stem and just stuck it in the top and tied a small fabric tie on the cinnamon to act as leaves. I have made these apples larger in red, green and yellow and placed them in a basket. Really cute! You can also add a loop of ribbon or yarn and hang them on a tree. If you change the yarn to orange, you can make "Knitted" Pumpkins too. I currently have a " harvest" of them on my mantle along with other hand crafted fabric pumpkins. Good luck growing this versatile variety and let me know when you get your first "harvest"!!
