Well FarmGirls, even My Tiny Farm has been fighting the elements this past weekend!! First we had a big storm with wind that brought down early acorns(see photos) in the driveway. The next day I went outside to well, let me explain...

As you know from a previous post, My Tiny Farm has a tiny apple tree.

So, I have a variety known as "Knitted Reds and Greens" which are early apples and wonderful for pies! I collected a basket of them and left them outside while I went in for some iced tea.

All of a sudden I heard a ruckus outside of crows and saw that they were into the apples trying to get in on my hard work!!!!

So, what does a FarmGirl do even on a tiny farm??? She goes inside and searches for the parts to make a ....... you guessed it!!

Now let's see if those crows come back and help themselves to my harvest! I mean really!!!

Just an FYI, the pumpkin you see behind My Tiny Scarecrow, is called a Seminole Pumpkin which is what grows down here in the hot, humid south. They resemble more of a butternut squash in taste than pumpkins from the north but they are local and good to cook with. If I ever get these crows under control, I will cook some up and share a recipe from My Tiny Farm.

Stay tuned for more adventures and FarmGirl resolutions from My Tiny Farm!!

At first I thought oh no trouble on a farm and then I started to smile. How adorable. I think I will start a tiny farm here in PA. You made my day.

I have not posted for a while. It has been a really busy summer. Now fall is here, the garden is starting to settle and I can turn my attentions to reading all the wonderful posts here.

Audrey- Yes, "Knitted reds and greens" are a sort of specialty I "grow" down here on My Tiny Farm. They are the only variety I have found that "stand up" under this heat and humidity in Florida. The cool thing about this variety is that I am pretty sure they would grow in any state under any conditions!!LOL And the stove? IT is a propane gas stove with all of the hoses to hook to a tank. If it was vented to the outside, I am sure it would work because the parts seem in working order. There is quite a bit of rust in the bottom of the oven so I am not sure how well it would maintain temperature but I think the 3 burners under the existing cover would be perfect for cooking.

I'm smiling ear to ear. Thanks for that moment of pleasure. Keep us updated on the activities round the farm.

I had not heard of the apple variety called "knitted reds and greens". My, but they look tastey, I wonder if they'd grow up here in Wyoming? Glad your scarecrow is keeping the crows away. That pumpkin looks interesting too but not near so much as they stove. Love that little gem!

Looking forward to more adventures from The Tiny Farm.

Shirley Jean- You have caught me on this one!! LOL Yes, indeed this is big "Gator" country and the first game is in two weeks. All of the Gator fans, including DH Alum, are all about getting the season going!!! New coach and some new players so time will tell.

Sabrina- Yes, please start your tiny Farm because I bet there are lots of FarmGirls like you and I that can't have a real farm. For now we have farms in our blood and imaginations to support our dreams. We can all share on MJC and have fun with pictures and stories. The Fall is just the best time to have "My Tiny Farm" because there is so much from the outside that you can bring inside. This old stove in my kitchen was a dream of mine and it took me about 4 years to find one small enough and affordable to bring home. I love to decorate it for each season so stay tuned for more scenes from My Tiny Farm!
