I'm hoping the sisterhood can help me come up with some ideas for a name for our ranch. We live in upstate New York. Our property is 34 acres. We have horses, several of which were rescued. On our property, we have a huge hill, running creeks, a waterfall, open pastures, lots of slate rock, large maple trees, willow trees and wooded acres. We have 7 horses, and 6 of them were rescues. We are looking to continue our rescue work with the horses, do boarding and trail rides. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

How about Ripplebrook Horse Ranch, since you've the brooks and the waterfall?

Too much thread, so little time!

:) giggles are good.

When I'm brainstorming for ideas, I like to write them down on paper, in list form and tack it up on the fridge and then just let it all sink in for a few days... almost forgetting about it on the back burner - then that's when "the sign" or "inner knowing" pops up and inside you'll just *know* you've got the right one.

Fresh Start Farm? Godolphin Greens? (Godolphin was one of the foundation stallions) Back from Bad (Rescue)(farm)? Bottom of the Barrell, Back from Bottom? False Start Farm? Forgiven Farm?

I'll have to think on this one! Do you have any pics of your farm? I bet that would help! :)

lol at the hell and back! :)

my first thought was Second Chance Ranch with the rescue animals, but then it could also be Patch O Paradise Farm. Have fun with it!

Those are awesome suggestions!!

The only thing that popped into my head was obviously a reflection of the kind of day I had...

To Hell & Back Horse Farm

haha, geez....
Sadie

p.s. keep in mind, sometimes ridiculous suggestions help spotlight the keepers :)

I love clean slate ranch!! Heck, I think is buy a property just because it had that name! It's full of potential, and just sounds like a new start!

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Thanks for your ideas. We are throwing around lots of different names and trying to narrow them down. I kind of like the Clean Slate Ranch one.

How about "Clean Slate Ranch", Or "Open Slate Ranch". All the rescued animals as well as the others have a clean slate to begin again. Thanks for sharing.

I really like Fiddler's Green! Great suggestion, Jen!

"Fiddler's Green" (Farm? Ranch?) Fiddler's Green is the "heaven" that many Irish sailors hoped to go to when they died at sea. A place of green rolling hills, meadows, gentle trees, etc. Your rescues that have had a hard life probably think they have died and gone to heaven when they hit your place!
"Still Waters" conjures a psalm-like image and could work.
Anything that is a reference to a feature that sticks out, or a story you want to tell makes a good name.
