Posted - Jul 10 2010 : 12:18:11 PM I posted a story on my blog about the wishing well on our little farmette. There is a picture of it too. Note the little door on the top to keep the kids out of well. I ordered a wooden bucket from Lehman's. When it arrived, it was too nice to put outside. I'm using it to hold napkins on my kitchen table. I need to find a galvanized bucket to hang from the crank, for show.
The crank actually turns. It was made this way so that we can hook a rope to the electric pump and lower it down into the well. We are also purchasing a hand crank pump in case of emergencies.
Let me know what you think.....:0}

Posted - Jul 14 2010 : 03:47:19 AM I'm shocked at the price the city charges for water. I'm guessing because I'm on an island, my water bill isn't that high. I love that your wishing well forged friendships, and brought your neighbors together... it should be called the Friendship Well! Enjoy!

Posted - Jul 10 2010 : 2:57:44 PM That's really cute. So it's an actual working well? And that's alot to pay for city water too. Wow, what a big bill. I have a well that I use for animals and watering. But if I use it too much it dries up since we haven't had much rain lately. So I have to be careful. I'm glad ya'll were able to come up with a good solution.
