Hi!
We're considering leaving our just started farmstead for three years while my adventurous husband fills a position overseas. We looking for someone interested in renting/sitting for us. Rent is negotiable and can be lowered in exchange for sweat. We have so many projects that we haven't been able to get to yet! This would be the perfect opportunity for someone.

The farm is six acres. A river runs right through the middle of it. We've found places for the animals to go...unless you want them to stay. 2 cats, Mama and baby Alpine Goat, 2 rabbits and 11 pullets that we hatched this spring. Our house is around 2000 sq ft. 2 bed, 3 bath. The house will remain fully furnished, due to the fact that we can't take much with us. We have a small garden and the beginnings of an orchard. With some fencing there is room for a horse. If you are less than settled and want a learning opportunity or the "farm life" now, maybe this will work for you.

We're looking to have a deck put on, a greenhouse built, treed area cleared of fallen trees, gardens expanded. A rock wall... Perennials planted....I could go on. There is so much we want to do.

Our area is wonderful! The Idaho winters are not mild, but our Soapstone woodburning stove is fantastic! I have a bookshelf full of classics to pass the time. We have a fresh food co-op that delivers fruit, veggies, bread and other goodies each week, fresh eggs and milk from our neighbors. We live in a Canyon about 10 minutes from town and only 30 minutes from the nearest city...O.K. it's a city to us! During the winter we watch as deer bed down in the trees in front of our house and the farm is taken over by herds of wild turkeys.

What an opportunity for you and the person that you choose to caretake for you! I'm thinking who I know that would be perfect....don't want to just send anyone your way!

Wow! If my husband wasn't thoroughly planted at his job here, I'd jump on the opportunity in a heartbeat! Sounds beautiful! I hope you find someone to take care of it for ya :)

Ask around, maybe a newly wed couple who can start out on your place and be able to save to buy their own in 3 yrs, or someone who can no longer afford their own place, due to the economy, but would be able to afford caretaking yours, just a couple of ideas, good luck...
