Do any of you girls know of someone who might be moving south to beautiful Alabama? The hubs and I have had our place on the market before, but pulled it when the housing woes began. But I have the itch to get it sold now!

We have a three bedroom, two full bath log cabin (NOT a kit!) sitting on 39 acres. Open area contains the living area, dining area, and kitchen. Large pantry/laundry room which adjoins the kitchen and master bath. Huge master walk-in closet. French doors in master bedroom open to a "sunrise" porch. Covered front porch and covered back porch and open deck surrounding one end of a 17' x 33' oval, aboveground swimming pool. Flooring is heart pine, tile and carpeting.

The hubs has a HUGE tin/steel frame workshop along with an enclosed garage with covered parking for the tractor, bobcat, & lawnmower. He's currently building a three car garage in front of the house. Acreage is mostly wooded with approximately 5+ acres cleared and has huge boulders and a wet-weather creek w/waterfall. We're very secluded and have all kinds of wildlife and beautiful native plants.

If anyone is seriously interested, I can email pics. Our price is $325,000 and I am a realtor and can save someone money by handling the entire transaction myself. When we first decided to sell, I was dead-set against it. But now I'm at a place where I'm ready. This could change at any moment, so I'm taking advantage of it! We know it's gonna take a special kind of person to buy our place. It truly is beautiful property. One potential buyer wanted it for a vineyard, but his wife wanted to be in a subdivision. Another potential buyer wanted it to turkey hunt, but his wife wanted to be closer to shopping. And I was thinking today that if anyone out there could fully appreciate a homeplace like ours, it'd surely be a fellow farmgirl!

Thank you, ladies! I do love our location, just not the log cabin. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn't have built it, but at the time when we bought the property, we just couldn't envision anything other than a log cabin sitting up here. But the biggest reason we want to sell is financial security. With the state of things right now and my hubs having to lay-off some of his men and our daughter about to start college, I get too overwhelmed if I allow myself to dwell on it too much and not having a house payment would go a long way in easing those concerns.

I know there's a buyer out there somewhere. I've seen it too many times. Tomorrow I'm closing on a house in our little town and the buyers live almost 4 hours away. So you just never know. Until then, I'll keep after the hubs to get me some sheetrock hung so I can paint! :)

That sounds FABULOUS! We're not in a place to move at the moment, but goodness, when we're able to I certainly hope I can find a place like that! A log cabin on 39 acres sounds like our dream property! Good luck with getting it sold, here's hoping that you find a really great buyer that will take good care of it. :)

Cherry,

You don't know how much I would love to move to Alabama. I so wish we could buy your place. It sounds perfect too. If only we were in a position to move now.

I am wishing you the Best though!

Cherry, your place sounds like a paradise! Best of luck finding a deserving buyer who will love and appreciate it as much as you do.
