Oh my you girls have me cracking up!!! LOL!!!
I didn't realize that chickens had such personalities.
Quick someone tell me where to find easy chicken coop plans, so husband will build one, so I can get my chickens already!!

share the eggs with the neighbors..they soon will have no need to complain when they taste the difference...and maybe you can convince a few of them to try backyard chicken raising too:0)

Jealous, jealous, jealous!!!!
I can hardly wait til I can sell this place and get a place for chickens.
Of course, there's a lot of cleaning to be done here before I can list it. Well, my grown kids owe me money so maybe I will have them come over and clean and pitch stuff to work off part of the debt.

My hens are very happy and loud in the morning until mid afternoon. They love to share their laying stories with us! Its very fun. They also come a running whenever we open the door and step out. Our hens have the full run of the place so they are always at our feet. They even try to jump in the car and go for a ride with us on occasion while the kids are getting piled in. This morning I had a Rhode Island Red jump up on top of the window AC unit that is currently in my kitchen. I was washing dishes and my sink is right in front of the window. It freaked me out at first but then she just happily watched me through the window and I thought it was cute so started chatting with her. I love having hens!

Rene, I have Buff's too. I just love them. They are all over the place. My roo started crowing a few weeks ago. He's too funny. But he's getting better every day! I can't wait til he is full grown. That's the most beautiful roo ever.

Do all yours look to be about the same size? I have 15 hens and a roo, but one of the hens is about twice as big as the others. It better not be another roo. But Jimmy's not even as big as this one is.

I wish I had taken a picture this morning of my daughter leaving for work. Her car is outside the fence and she's walking down the driveway with 50 chickens following her. She had to be careful not to step on them. It was cute. I'm sure I'll get a chance again, though.

Enjoy those girls. Have you gotten eggs yet? Mine always get loud and do the egg laying song when they lay one.

Kris

I love buffs! If your neighbors complain, just tell them that you're providing FREE country ambiance for their enjoyment!

I have two buffs in my fllock, and they are the sweetest. I had one that was a pet and she was so friendly a fox got her. I love listening to my chicks when the get ready to sleep, I swear the cluck good night to each other. Just like the Waltons. I'd name one after John Boy but you know what happens when you name chickens.............

how sweet it is to love some one, how right itis to care

Sadly, my buff just became dinner. But I have a slew of started pullets (ameracaunas, delaware and columbian wyandotte) that are chattering up a storm! I just freakin' love chickens!

I love my buff -- Reba! She is the sweetest. When she first came to me as a young adult, we would take naps together on the hammock. One time I woke up and my mamma barn cat was laying next to us napping as well. Chickens are just the best. Keep enjoying them!

Follow your bliss!

I have buffs too and they love to squwak anytime one of them lays an egg. We also have English MAstiff dogs(3) and about 7 cats. They all live in harmony in our yard! If I go out and call "here kitty, kitty" the chickens come running!

Sounds like mine! Do yours "knock" on the kitchen door? I have a buff hen that's about 9 years old.She climbs up an entire flight of outdoor steps to the upper deck and pecks at the screen door. She wants lovin' and treats! I doubt she's even still laying eggs, but she'll die of old age and not find the stew-pot...she's too much of a pet. I LOVE it when they're chatty...and yes, they're noisier than our roo EVER was!
