Well, although we had a nice time in TN, the properties we looked at were not even as close to what they looked like in the photos. As a realtor, that's one of my pet peeves...using ancient photos for a listing..grrrrr! Anyway, hubby decided that maybe we should look around here in Missouri, so he wouldn't have to commute 5+ hours back and forth from TN to MO, since we have rental properties here that need tending to.

I looked online yesterday and found a 108 yr old farmhouse with 35 acres. If it's anything like the photos, it is a steal!

On Monday, Hubby and I are heading down to TN to look at properties for our future farm I can't believe that we're actually doing it finally, since hubby has been a city slicker all his life.

We'll be looking in the Benton County area, and already have one property in mind, but I told the local real estate agent to look up other places that meet our criteria so we have several to choose from.

If all goes well and we find our perfect slice of heaven, I could be living in TN by the spring!

We'd love to, but we have 2 properties we need to sell first. So, send prayers and good vibes we sell them!

Yes, the hardwood floors are the original flooring and in amazing shape consideing their age. All of the stonework on the house and the fireplace were built from stone that was found on the land. I wouldn't mind if the current owner left all of that pretty wicker furniture...LOL!

Good luck Diana. It appears there is hardwood floors! Always a bonus.
It's beautiful. I hope it comes out to everything you want, and are dreaming of!

Dh and I are in KY looking at land for our dream home. We're looking for a creek and woods, space for a large garden and fruit trees. A house and barn would be great but we can always build them.

I hope we are all successful in our search for our little bit of Heaven.

Thanks for the good wishes! The home sits on 20 acres, and the other 15.7 acres is across the gravel road from the home. We're not interested in the acreage across the road, and the real estate agent said the owners would be willing to accept an offer on just the home and 20 acres. I'm going to post some interior shots of the farmhouse on my blog today.

Go look at my blog. I found a place I fell in love with. Now we just have to figure out how to finance/afford it!

Kris-Benton Co. is in Western TN about 1 1/2 hours from Nashville. I have family in Chattanooga, Tracy City, Pelham, Coalmont etc. :)

Good luck on your hunt! It is fun to look at places. I love old farmhouses, esp. with barns. I could live in a barn, I think.

How far is Benton Co. from the Chatt. area? Tn. is a beautiful state.
