Posted - Nov 29 2007 : 11:53:41 AM The USDA has this great program called "Rural Development". Basically the USDA becomes the co-signer on your home/land/repairs loan (whichever you need). You don't have to farm on the land they help you buy, in fact you can only buy at most, 5 acres. There are some provisions such as income level and you have to apply through your local Rural development office.
But for all you farmgirls out there like me who are trying to find a way to buy your own land or home this is a great opportunity.

Posted - Dec 01 2007 : 4:43:47 PM The Rural Development lady for this are told me there is a single mom with 4 kids who has a $150,000 house here in Moscow that is on the program. Because of her situation, she gets 99% of her loan subsidised!
