What of Australia have you seen so far Clare?

In the original photo my hubby and I put into Yahoo you could see the Farmall name, does Yahoo always make it like that Clare?

Yahoo photos is pretty easy to do..I bet you could!! Please do!!!
Loved the tractors!! Someday I want a vintage John Deere... I collect JD stuff and my whole kitchen is full of it..I am even embroidering a dish towell right now (for me even!!! ) with a vintage John Deere tractor on it..to hang in the kitchen. I had done four others not my taste and decided to take a break and do one for me. My grandpa used to let us drive his tractor sometimes..just when he was turning over ground and I loved it!! It just seems like you can't have a farm without a tractor..and the old ones are the best!!! I wish they would have a vintage tractor show here..there are alot of them in every parade the town does...since there are lots of farmers..mostly turkey farmers around here. If you had a Norbest turkey for Thanksgiving it likely came from my county!!
Thanks again for the treat seeing the photos!!

We had a Farmall on our family farm, it was fun, we had a go at using it.

My account name came up on Yahoo, does that mean I can post some of those type photos too from a street parade?

Oh Susan, it's too bad you don't live a little closer! Every year in the late summer, there's a Steam Engine Tractor show/thing out in some fella's fields up here. I took my family last year, for the first time, and ooooh, it was cool! Let me see if I can c&p the ad from our local newspaper's website...

Sycamore Show-Northern Illinois Steam Power Club
The Sycamore Show-Northern Illinois Steam Power Club will hold their 49th Annual Show on Aug. 11 thru 14. Operating 250HP Corliss Steam Engine. Steam engines, gas engines, gas tractors, threshing wheat, baling straw, corn cutting, sawmill, ladies hobby tent, antique displays, flea market, and model steam train running daily. Old Time music will be playing. The website is www.threshingbee.org. There is a daily parade at 1:30 p.m., with plenty of good food at Fay’s Pork Chop and Chicken Barbecue. There is lots of shade and clean restroom facilities. It is at Taylor Marshall Farm, Plank Road, north of Sycamore about 50 miles west of Chicago with free parking.

It's EXTREMELY neat to see. Honestly, I'm not generally into tractors, but it sounded like a neat afternoon out last year, and wow, it was sooo much more than I expected! The location is lovely-- it's all in the fields & pastures of a rather nice looking farm. They had some gorgeous antique cars as well, and all kinds of neat displays & demonstrations.

Oh Connio! My dad had an old Ford 9N. We were always working on it. i never knew what it was to have a tractor, until we didnt have one. We used it to plow the garden, mow the roads, and plow the driveway in the winter. I loved the smell of it. He passed away two years ago, so I took his old caot off the hook and took it home with me. Now I can smell him anytime and it keeps me warm in more ways than one. And, Susan,The very best smell in the world is soil waking up in the spring, under plow or shovel. I know it is time to plant when I can smell the soil!

Well girls all my husband runs is vintage tractors, bailers, combine, he has his grandpa to thank for that. He loves his farmall's, there are times in the middle of haying he wished he was in a nice new tractor.....that starts, but I don't think he would ever trade!

Arent they just great!!My dAD iS a JD fan but just the lawn size..I think he has 7 or more of them??!My neighbor down the road was getting his IH collection out spiffying them up for the fair..they looked so great parked in a row from smallest to largest...I wish I had stopped to take a shot with the camera. I know if I had one I would want to ride around on it all day..you know take it to the grocery store!!I love the smell of fresh plown dirt too..Im sure I was a farmer in a previous life!!!I remember the first time I got to drive one too..and it was like every single cell in my body was
awake and cheering for more!!I think it has to do with moving fast
out in the open cause Ive had similar sensations in a convertible, motorcycle, snowmobile and wave runner. Being on a horse bareback was very cool too!Although not that fast!! That is something I would like to learn also ,,horseback riding!!

Hey Farm Girls!

I love vintage Tractors and hope to own one some day. Would love to see your photos. The one I want is a Ford that is red and gray. I believe that it is a 1951 Ford 9N. Two of my neighbors have them, and I see them on the road for sale all of the time. One day.........
