Oh Ladies! What a wonderful day!

I got to go out to the horse ranch that I used to work at (before I got pregnant with Nora) and have a wonderful Turkey supper with my dear friends. I just love their ranch and they have the most beautiful horses! They also breed rare dogs and it was great to see some of my favorites again!

Their foals are to die for! Oh such sweet little faces! And the babies from last year that I got to know from day one! I can't believe how they have grown!

I can't wait till I can buy land and am able to get a horse. There are two at the ranch that I would love to have. Both are sweet and loving horses with just enough quirkiness to completely steal my heart!

If you want to see some of the horses and the dogs, the ranch does have a website www.rockinheart.com

I wish I had taken my camera! One of my favorite mares out there has a sad-then-happy story. A very wonderful lady on the west coast got her mare pregnant from the stud, Safar from my friend's ranch. She just wanted a "pasture pet" horse. The resulting mare has great bloodlines but isn't really Halter Show horse quality. She is a great mare for riding and western shows though. I would really love to ride her for endurance races...

Anyway, this woman that owned the mare "Fancy" got extremely ill and had to sell off her horses. My friends found out that "Fancy" had gotten sold several times and ended up at a ranch that was not taking good care of her. So they bought her to rescue her. She came to the ranch pretty skinny and needing lots of TLC.

Now she is in beautiful shape and just had her first foal! And another little filly to boot! yay!

Cross you fingers for me that someday I will be able to afford to buy Fancy! I just love her to death! And another one of my favorite horses is on the website- Her name is Bint Knazeera. Such a beautiful horse!

gosh .. passing the horses at the 'top of the hill' here in kentucky ..and seeing baby chicks strutting around ... makes me want some critters .. but it sure would put the ki-bash on all our travelling! i love that we have friends with farm animals to visit though!

Wow it sounds like you had a great day. I know how you feel about wanting to get a horse. I feel the same way.
