Posted - Jul 26 2013 : 10:17:11 AM A few years ago I moved from the country into a suburb in another state (for a job). I have found that being an urban Farmgirl requires some creativity. I am wondering if there might be interest in a board for Farmgirls who live "in town"; a place to share ideas about how to garden, care for animals, keep house, etc, that are true to our Farmgirl spirits and at the same time keep our neighbors, HOAs, and cities happy. This is something that I've been thinking about lately and I am sure that I am not the only Farmgirl who is in this situation.
Thanks for the chance to put this idea out for consideration.

Posted - Aug 03 2013 : 6:11:45 PM Hi Janet, Addy, Nini, and Marilynn, Thanks for your interest is the Urban Farmgirls topic. I loved your suggestions, and just started a thread under "A Farm of My Own". Please check it out and contribute to the conversation. It sounds like we have some things in common and we can inspire and support each other.
Warmly, Pam

Posted - Jul 26 2013 : 8:07:41 PM I live in town, too, and I would love it if we urban farmgirls had a forum where we could share our unique way of bringing the farm life to city living! I think it would be fitting to start it on "A Farm of My Own," don't you? Ours is a unique kind of "farm" living, to be sure, but like MaryJane says, being a farmgirl is simply a matter of the heart!

Posted - Jul 26 2013 : 6:21:58 PM I like the idea! I would join in. I live in a small town in a duplex with a tiny yard. And I grew up in a city, so a lot of this is new to me. |

Posted - Jul 26 2013 : 5:31:23 PM Pam, sounds like a good idea. I live in town too, and think this would make a good topic. How about starting one on, let's say, across the fence, or a farm of my own, or off grid. Just a suggestion for you.
