I am an uprooted farmgirl (spent most of my childhood on a farm in Mo.)doing my darndest to carve out a piece of farmlife in suburbia, and one way that I hope to make that happen is from learning from others, especially YOU! I have started to volunteer at a local CSA and am learning so much about organic farming. But I am definitely a novice. I was just thinking how nice it would be if somehow we could pair up more "seasoned" farmgirls with newbies like me, and they could somehow become kind of an online mentor? I don't know... probably another crazy idea I got in the shower. What is it about the shower and crazy ideas?

Frannie has a great point! We all can use some mentoring sometimes - and we all have some great things to offer each other, too. I know that, for me, anyway, I feel like everyone here has been so available and kind - I just love the idea of an "online mentor" and I really think that we all are fortunate enough to have just that kind of relationship here... lucky farmgirls!

XOXO, Libbie

Thanks Frannie! Sounds like the informal way (is there any other way for a farmgirl?) is best!

Mary .. there are so many farmgirls (the city kind and the country kind) here at MaryJane's forum. you will find a 'kindred soul' to e-mail back and forth with .. we are all here to help one another. Sounds like you have already made a head-start with your voluneer work. Feel free to post or e-mail any of the farmgirls if you need a little 'lifting up' or 'information' .. or just want to 'chat'. xo, frannie
