hi, first let me say i love the site just like it is, but i do have 3 questions?
we used to be able to put our blog info on the profile id page, now it isnt there,,,i found it very useful. can it be brought back?
i think it would be nice if we had a map of the us where we could click on a state and get a list of members from that state. that might be a very difficult thing to do, idont know i seem to be incharge of questions today, but i bet a super duper computer person would know if it is possible, ive seen it on other sites. think it would help unify some of us that are from big states and cant seem to gather together, at least we could contact each other and have a cyber group.
i wish that when you go to the persons profile page their original post from the welcome wagon could stay there so you could get a quick glimpse of their interest etc.
anyway, these are just ideas, ,,,,the site is wonderful and has really brought a lot into my life. even dh seems to be happy i've found yall.
o dont have as long of a honey do list as i used to, and i dont caomplain when he goes off to play golf....well, not as much.
thanks for listening.

love

thanks,
carol for the response.
i knew you had a good reason for the deletion of the blog from the profile page, but do miss that function.
maybe the signatures, with blog could be incorporated into the map page?
i love the idea of the bio field on the profile pg, cause when i respond to another farmgirl especially if they are having a hard time i like to know a little more about them , and i cant always remember .
sometimes i just have those, cra(cant remember anything) type days.
this is my favorite site on the web, and honestly yall are doing a great job, just didnt know if these things have been thought of.
....and who the heck needs all that spam..it is highly processed and loaded with cholesterol and who knows what part of the pig they are putt.....oh you mean computer spam....i thought THEY were making yall eat mass quantities of spam several times a day.........never mind!
have a great day carol, and keep up the great work! we love ya here in texas!

Hello girls!
Thanks, Frannie, for looking into the map thing. We're looking at it and at other options for a farmgirl listing by location. We'll get back to you soon on that.

As for the web address field in the profile section, we had to remove that to cut down on the number of spam sign-ups we got on the forum (we were getting 50-100 a day, and now it's down to about 15 a day, so that helped considerably). You can always put your blog or website information in your tagline, though, so the opportunity to have your website address show on your posts is still there (check out brightmeadow's post above for an example). Having the welcome wagon info on the profile page is a great idea, but not a feature of this forum software, unfortunately. I'll check with our computer tech guy, though, to see if it's possible to add a bio field on the profile page that people could fill out.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!
Carol

Hey Frannie,

I would be happy to create what you are talking about Carol would have to take care of what is shown in the member profiles areas of the forum but I could start an organized approach to gathering farmgirl and citygirl information by State and keep it updated.

I just need Carol's feedback on the best area of the forum to start it in..Farmgirl Barter sounds like a good spot to do it since every member visits that section at one time or another Or the Across the Fence area. I will ask her about it.

Heck, I don't know how it works, either, except that it does! I wasn't sure how to go about setting it up and before I knew it, it was done! I just pointed and clicked a few times, and that was that.

Well, Frappr has a map utility... I was just trying it out and posted a MJF map on my page at http://www.frappr.com/?a=constellation_map&mapid=68720539702 I found out about this through another list I am on - the Machine Knit list.

Try it out and see if it works!
