Posted - Apr 29 2007 : 07:03:40 AM They need to make that forever stamp in different designs too because I love all the different things they come up with.
Have you see the new "Settlement of Jamestown" stamp? It's triangular... http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10152&storeId=10001&categoryId=18401&productId=29353&langId=-1

Posted - Apr 29 2007 : 06:57:29 AM I'm thinking that it would be a good deal to "stock up" on the forever stamps, then - I think I'll get quite a few of them, since I don't imagine that postal rates will ever go *down*!
XOXO, Libbie

Posted - Apr 29 2007 : 05:31:24 AM Libbie - That's exactly right! My oldest collects postage stamps so I try to keep up a bit with what's going on. The "forever stamp" that's out now will not have a rate printed on it so it will be valid postage literally forever, regardless of future rate increases. When the rates go up again in the future, the forever stamp will still be printed, but it will have the new rate printed on it each time and be sold for that amount.
My oldest is actually very excited about the rate increase because a Star Wars set is coming out as a result on May 25th. LOL

Posted - Apr 28 2007 : 09:06:01 AM I went to the Post Office yesterday and bought some new stamps - they have this new one with the Liberty Bell on it that's a "forever" stamp - that means that you can buy it now for .41, and if you find it in a drawer two years from now, you can still use it and it will be valid for whatever the single first class stamp rate is then - that's what my trusty postmaster said!!!
XOXO, Libbie
