We have an extra day this month and as of now I have no idea what I will do with it. Any ideas?

Thanks for the good wishes, Denise, sounds like you had a very good extra day.

Thanks for the good wishes, Michelle. You did have a busy extra day and vacuuming is no fun any old day.

Happy birthday Sara!

CJ, all those things can be exciting but it's up to us to make our days that way!
Hugs!

I spent the morning doing some usual chores then I worked on a puzzle I received for my birthday. Those puzzles seem to get harder as I get older. Lol.
Worked on some things to earn badges too.

Then my little man came for his Thursday buddy day. I usually have him from 9:30-2 but yesterday he was only here a few hours in the afternoon as he did a brunch with his mom and came after. We played Uncle Wiggly, Sorry and Candy Land. We had an afternoon treat and then his mom came to pick him up. I truly enjoy these says with him. He is the last of the 7 grands and will start kindergarten this year. And that's how I spent my extra day.

It started raining here on the way home. Fortunately we have leftover tri-tip for dinner. That gives me an extra reading hour :-)

We got up early (for us), went to breakfast, bank, and shopping. Home early enough to have some time for sewing and much anticipated reading.

Happy Birthday Sara!!! I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with your two sisters. Much happiness to you.
I spent this extra day making butter, cottage cheese, and working on yogurt. I should run the vacuum, but that does not sound like fun.

My extra day is finally here and it's raining so no outside work today. Instead, I am readying food and my house for my 82-birthday lunch tomorrow. I've invited my two sisters, and we will enjoy a lunch of salads and sandwiches with cheesecake for dessert. No way will I be cooking on my birthday.

How is your extra day going?

Vanessa a.k.a. Audra Rose,
I love the idea of the time capsule! My husband, daughter and I have been trying to come up with an idea for something special for the day. This may be just the ticket!!

I didn't get any reading time after all. My daughter is visiting so we went to a nearby succulent nursery and spent a couple of rainy hours there. We had a yummy sushi lunch and since she was a dollar store virgin (I didn't know there were any of them left) I corrupted here and took her to the dollar store.

Sara, we have lots of deer (mule deer) come through our yard and around the house. So we watch their comings and goings.
We even have names for them. For the bucks their names are according to their antler points. We have one who only has one point on one side and a broken antler on the other. His name is "One and a Half". But we have "2 by 2", "3 by 4" and "4 by 4".
And there is a doe and her yearling fawn (doe). They are "Molly and Polly".
I saw "3 by 4" outside the bathroom window one day, rubbing his antlers on a young aspen tree. He was just a few feet away and I opened the window and firmly told him to "Stop that!". He did and he ran off.
They are hard on trees, shrubs, etc . . . but we enjoy watching them!

CeeJay, the most exciting thing for me these days is watching Annie chase a stray cat across the back yard. BTW she never catches one.

I'll probably be doing what I usually do . . . a walk, Bible reading, a bit of crafting, etc.
Nothing exciting.

Thanks all for your good ideas. I will probably spend my extra day sowing Swiss chard seeds in two large galvanized tubs and piddling. For you who are not acquainted with the term piddling, it means doing a little of this and that with no order or logic.

Growing up, I had friends, sisters that were born four years part, both on February 29th. What are the chances?!

I remember on that sitcom The Middle, Sue Heck, the daughter, who always had the worst luck, was born on Feb 29. LOL
Not a big sitcom person, but I catch them rarely
