Hate to tell y'all but first-class postage is going up two cents on Jan 21, 2024. Now is the time to stock up on Forever stamps, like other things they don't have a past due date.

Thanks Sara for this update! I had heard the prices were going up but did not know when. I will definitely make a run to USPS this week and get stamps.

I bought 3 rolls of stamps 2 years ago. I've only used 1 roll. My Mother had a lot of stamps and I'm still using them.
I did buy a few sheets of the Global stamps 3 weeks ago. I only have 3 pen pals across the pond.

I didn't know this until a couple of years ago when my sister's mail wasn't being picked up. She went to the post office and was told postman DO NOT have to pick up your mail if there is none to deliver. I am fortunate that most of my postmen will cross the street to pick up my mail whether I am receiving mail or not. My sister on the other hand that lives less than a mile from me does not have postmen that will pick up her mail if none is being delivered.
Another thing I miss the days when I had one postman, now there are three or four. The same three or four but I never know who will show up. I'm just thankful they are all friendly and will pick up my mail.

It wouldn't be so bad but they just got a hike last year and the service gets worse and worse. Everyone doing everything online, paying bills etc cuts down on their overall revenue so they raise the prices to make up for it which in turn makes more people do online paying. Vicious circle and the service never improves.

I just went and got 2 sleeves of stamps. The choice is not the best. Our local service here is great. I have no complaints, but I know other areas are not the same. |

The price hike won't impact me as much as it would in years past. Over the last year my handwriting and the ability to even print has gotten to the point I am no longer able to send cards. I miss choosing the right card for just the right Farmgirl. To all of you that send me cards know I appreciate and treasure each one.

Wow, thank you for the heads-up Sara. I surely hope service will improve as well. It is very sad that service everywhere (not just the postal service) is not the quality it used to be.
A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.
