These Wizard of Oz nutcrackers are my favorite Christmas decorations. I have them on my fire place mantle. They were my grandmother's when I was younger and she gifted them to me a couple years back because she knows how much I love the Wizard of Oz.

What is your favorite Christmas decoration?

Grace, that is the worst part. We have a large tree in our living room and a large tree in our upstairs loft. Then each kid has their own Christmas tree in their room. So we put away 6 Christmas trees. Its fun putting them all up but I dread when its time to take it all down. LOL! I love your German decorations. My mother in law has a bunch of Santa decorations, one from each of the major countries. I love seeing how beautiful the decorations are from other countries.

Dawn, that nativity set is beautiful. I can see why it would be a new favorite. Michele did a wonderful job.

It was really difficult to decide which was my favorite Christmas decoration. Then I opened up gifts on Christmas Eve morning during a FaceTime visit with my Windy Pines cousin Michele. This is our little tradition to open presents we ship to one and other. We give each other a FaceTime tour of our decorations and then we open presents we shipped to each other. This year Michele made me this beautiful felted nativity set. I knew immediately that this nativity set from Michele will be my forever favorite holiday decoration. Thank you so very much Michele!

Grace, I vote for the staying in and having pie and tea! The snow isn't going anywhere lol! Thank you for sharing all about your trees. That sounds like so much fun to change your tree around each year. I have enough ornaments I could actually do something like that.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Oh My Stars! I LOVE all of your comments on this Thread..
Like Dawn, I too would be hard pressed to lick one favorite ...

Each has a special story..
Years ago I had several trees,, one was for my Hallmark collection of ornaments, one was for all the sweet ornaments given to me by my students and their families during my 10 years as a Pre-School teacher.. the other trees represented family, friends and kitschy themed ornaments etc,, I even had a Western tree and a Vtg Trailer themed tree!

But what I do always do,, is put out my 'Blow Molds" Nativity set,, Up until a week ago, you could see them by the trailer barn,, but since our "snow" you can't see them,, I guess this is my que to bundle up, grab the snow shovel and go clear away the snow! .. or.. have another cup of tea and slice of pie and do it tomorrow! lol!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Karen, your jewelry tree is beautiful! I love the glowing colors.

Michele, your nativity is so sweet. I love that all your family helped make it.

April, your elf bunny is adorable. My grandma loved making things like that. I enjoy having decorations similar to yours.

Thank you guys for sharing your stories and pictures. I love the them.

Love your favorite decorations and the stories that went with them. I have been looking at my own decorations and am hard pressed to choose a favorite. Merry Christmas to all of you farmgirls and your loved ones!

April your elf bunny is such a treasure. Almost all our decorations are homemade, which I love. I enjoy getting them out every year to display. Merry Christmas everyone.

I love to see the favorite christmas decorations shared and the stories behind them.

Krista, your wizard of oz nutcrackers are precious and so nostalgic. Such a special gift from your grandmother and from your childhood. My husband grew up watching the wizard of oz every holiday season as a child. Fond memories.

Karen, your jewelry christmas tree is beautiful, I was gifted an unfinished project of my grandmothers she started with costume jewelry, I need to finish and frame. Your sharing has motivated me to finish my grandmothers project after the holidays, I will pull it out today. Thank you.

Michelle, your nativity scene is so sweet and so special that your family all helped make it. Those are the true gifts in life. I grew up with hand made gifts and those have been and still are some of my fondest memories and treasures.

This sweet little elf bunny is one of my favorites, she was hand made by my great grandmother along time ago, she used to sit in our Christmas tree growing up, I was lucky to have her passed down to me, now she sits in our Christmas tree and something I cherish every single year. I will pass her one one day, too.

What a fun collection of nutcrackers!! I love that you have them now, Krista!

My favorite Christmas decoration is a tree made with costume jewelry. John’s grandma made it for us. She added a pair of cowboy boots for John, a pair of scissors for me, and two dolls, one for each of my girls.

Karen :)

To quote one of my past preschoolers “Not one of those Karens, but a good Karen”! Haha
