Hi Farmgirls!

I have not been on here in a very, very long time. I used to be here daily, but life got so busy for awhile, it was hard to do.

I have been making a point of relaxing this summer. We have had lots of hot weather here in New England. The garden is growing nicely, and the flowers in the flowerbeds look better than ever. We also installed a mini “orchard” on our property with a few plum, apple, peach and pear trees. I spend a lot of time each morning watering everything!

I have been baking lately and working on some knitting and sewing projects, as well as a new hobby I picked up earlier this year.

I have had lots of family time which I am savoring. My daughter turned 20 this summer - can you all believe it??

We are working on our vintage camper, Gidget. You know how that goes, over time everyone needs a little pick me up once and awhile. We are thinking of doing a bit lighter color on her stripes when we repaint her. Still turqouise - less teal.

I have done some canning and need to do more as more comes out of the garden. Pickles will be next.

It seems this year I have seen more friends in person, which is nice. I hope the pandemic stays at bay and we don’t go backwards.

Been wondering how some of my favorite farmgirls are doing…Grace? Sara? Missing you both alot! You’ve been on my mind. Missing alot of farmgirls here. What are you all up to this summer?

What have you all been doing? How is your summer? What’s growing in your garden?

Just popped over to say hello and send farmgirl virtual hugs to you all!

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

I have been MIA too. This is the first time that I've been on in almost three months. It's great to see that you are back. I have missed being on here so much. I guess I just needed a break from things.

hugs,
Marcy

Nicole, it is great to hear from you and know that all is well and that your Summer has been a welcomed change of pace and a chance to get projects done and enjoy a happy garden! I have missed you here on "the Farm" but happy that you checked in with us. We have had a punishing hot, humid, and long summer this year which has been no fun. Sometimes we have high heat and no showers and some days we can't seem to dry up. Our flowers and other plants have to be watered daily by either us or the sky. Hopefully, things will be better by October and hurricane season has passed it's peak and things cool down a bit.

I hope your time will allow you to drop by more often and share more about what is going on in your neck of the woods!

Take care, and have a great rest of your Summer!!

Hey Nicole,
It has been a busy few months over here
I have so much to get caught up with,, what is the old saying? 2 steps forward and 3 steps back!

How’s Pip?
I peek in on your activities on fb and so wish I could park my wee playhouse on
wheels next to yours so we could sit out and drink tea and share fun decorating ideas for our vtg trailers.
Happy to see you here on the forum.
Happy Summer

Hi Nicole! I’m so happy to see you stop by. I have missed seeing you around, but I’m glad you are taking care of yourself. We have had a pretty hot summer here and struggles keeping the garden alive. To much heat and not enough water due to water restrictions. I would love to add some fruit trees to our yard next year. Hopefully yours will give you lots of fruit in the future.

Nichole, it's so good to hear from you. I think of you often but fail to let you know. Hope to do better when it cools down a bit. July is a rough month for me. As you know I lost my only child, Dustin, in 2017 in July so I am hanging on to my peace and dealing with the oppressive Texas heat too. Come fall and cooler weather I promise to stay in touch.

Hi Nicole!
Sounds like you are taking advantage of all the good things that summer brings! I’m Karen. I joined MJF in January of this year and am loving it. I’ve “met” so many wonderful Farmgirls here.
I live in the PNW where our spring was unusually cool. So my garden is just now starting to really take off. Tomatoes are finally getting red, green beans are growing, and the squash are forming. :) My hubby and I tried a new variety of spaghetti squash…angel hair. I’m excited to see how it does. Our black beans are growing very well now that the summer heat is here.
Speaking of summer heat, we are experiencing triple digits this week and next. Then we should see some “cooler” temps.
I’ve spent my summer days crafting mostly. Housework when necessary! Lol I enjoy paper crafting, sewing, and quilting.
My hubby and I are headed to the Washington coast for 9 days in a few weeks. It will nice to get away and have some cooler weather too. I will be taking some smaller projects to work on while we are there.
It’s nice to “meet” you!

Karen :)

Nicole,
So good to see you here again. It has been too long.
We made a move last year and we love it. I have been busy with our younger grandchildren. Which suits me fine.
Also been busy with our container gardening. Keepong things watered and living.
Enjoying this summer to the fullest!
Hope to see you here more often.
