Well not France just now, but you were there. Glad to be back in the states at your other homestead?
I have been on a rather large I would say huge cleaning spree the last few days. I can't seem to do anything in a small way. Every shelf, drawer, cupboard, the attic, etc. I see you are on a spree yourself. I seem to have these sorting out fits about once a year, you should see the bags that went out for donation this morning.
Pretty soon you can go outside and play in the dirt.

THERE you are, Texas Fran! I have missed you, too, as all the gals here certainly have. Cannot wait to hear how the fair went, so after the vacuum cleaner can hold not another feather, take a break and let us know of your travels! Love, Nance

dar nance,
so good to hear from you. i have been away from the site, but busy in a good way, but boy have i missed everyone. the time does fly it seems in my world that you just returned to france from christmas vacation.
i am so busy here, that i have become absent and have missed out on so much. i hope to recover soon. i went to the mother of all craft/antique sales in texas and had a wonderful time. but i think my dh and your son have something in common, misplacing the vacuum. i was only gone a week and a half and i am on my 3rd week of trying to clean up this place. no crafting going on at this time but hope to get back to it soon.
miss you

love
fran

Bonjour and TGIF! Yep, happily back home in my house in Norfolk VA. We are only here 7 weeks this time because we have been invited to a communion later in May for the son of close friends in France, so back we go, too soon for me......just so much to catch up with whenever we arrive! But it will be fun; we head for Normandy (the region of France where my great great grandpa was born), to stay at a beautiful B&B, then head to Giverny to Monet's home, then back to Brittany (north west France) for a few days at his sis in law's country home. And she is REALLY in the country; it is beautiful! Sheep right up at the backyard fence sometimes... In June we are planning to go to Provence to see the annual lavender harvest, and hopefully spend a week in Italy in late August, so a fun summer ahead for us, to be sure. I never would have guessed in a million years how my life would change; what a gift this experience is.

Our 'deal' we made before we got married two years ago was a more or less 50-50 arrangement. I absolutely would not leave my beloved home for fulltime life in his home in France, and vice versa, and so far we spend about 7 months in France and 5 here, so not too bad at all. I will probably come back in the fall earlier than hubby, just like last year. Summer in southern France is terrific; only about three weeks of truly difficult to bear heat in July, virtually NO mosquitos either....just the opposite of life on the east coast! Anyway, hope that gives you a better picture of where and when and how long!! Have a great day!! Nance

So Nancy, how long do you stay when you come back here, and just where is here? and how long do you stay when you're in France? Are both places equally home? Questions, questions....

Bonjour, Nancy Jo! Yep, been back for three weeks. So good to be here, surrounded by all my "stuff" and friends/family, but boy oh boy, have I been working! The attic looks like a bomb went off, now that my oldest son has moved back home and reclaimed his bedroom which I had turned into my 'craft/store it til you find a use for it' room! Dust bunnies the size of SUVs were roaming the house; apparently my son needs to be reintroduced to the vacuum cleaner! Well, I do exaggerate a bit, but the garden has really been missing me! I hope to have a successful yard sale in a coupla weeks, too. Gotta make room for new goodies, ha! Tackled the linen closet first, and was so proud of myself that every time I passed it I had to open the door to survey my handiwork! Bet your castle is spic and span clean already, lucky gal. Thanks for thinking about me. Nance, temporarily not in, France.
