For those of you who remember Clare, aka SuzieHomemaker,,,
She was the 'ring leader' of several quilt swaps.
What is sew remarkable about this young woman was,, she was battling Cancer... and quilting was her passion and her respite and refuge.
Sadly in 2008, she did not win her battle with cancer.. but for a handful of us, we have a little bit of her in our memories and quilts.

Sorry I had to post so many photos, but it was to large to do it justice with just 1 arial view..
This quilt was made in 2007
We also did a Spring, 4th of July and a Winter themed one.

Thank you Clare for 'hearding us cats' to make a sweet friendship quilt.. We miss you and cherish your memory.

She truly was a Farm Girl Warrior... While cancer was nipping at her heels she didn't give up...
I wrote the names of each gal, on the backside of the quilt by their block..
The quilt is a truly beautiful reminder of a dear MJF girl.

What a beautiful memory to have of your friend. The friendship quilt is a really cool idea to create something unique and special too. Thanks for sharing photos and the story of Clare.

That friendship quilt is beautiful, Grace. It’s wonderful you have such great memories of her. I joined after 2008, so sadly I didn’t have the opportunity to meet her. She sounds like a wonderful lady.

Clare sounds like someone I would love to have known . . . a kindred spirit. It's wonderful that you have this precious part of her to remember her by.

Nice friendship quilt, Grace. I've participated in several quilt block swaps on MJF; however, I joined MJF in April 2009, so I did not participate in any of them that Clare hosted. Sounds like something I would have participated in.

I enjoy some Block of the Month swaps. I hosted some quilt block threads a wwhile back, and farmgirls took turns choosing a block pattern and those who participated made the block in their own colors and kept the blocks so they would have a quilt to keep.

Farmgirl hugs,
