Hubby and I had to run errands in Spokane yesterday,, so before heading home we popped into a Thrift and look at my sweet finds...
I scored a bag of doilies for $3.99 and this sweet table quilt for $1.99
One of the doilies is double sided..

Ooh, what great finds Grace! Love the purple and yellow. I thought the little quilt looked like watermelons. But it sure would be cute for Christmas. Your bandana pumpkin is adorable and the doilies are just the right touch. You are so creative!

I love finding handcrafted items at thrift stores, like doilies, crochet and cross stitch. I have started looking through the linen section first when I go thrifting. It started when my sister and I spotted a handmade quilt, and after digging, we also found a baby quilt, two quilted table runners, lap quilt and three wall hangings! It makes me sad when someone gives away precious heirlooms, but happy that I’m the one that discovers them! We consider it “rescuing” them. So much time, heart and soul goes into anything handcrafted, they should be treasured like gold.
A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

The design of the red white and green table runner looks like artistic watermelons to me. Lol!

Krista,, the lady who crochet the purple/yellow.. started with the purple center,,, then a row of yellow. And then several rows out the yellow row was crochet onto the purple.

Grace, you could put stars on top of the green and red triangles and they would almost pass as large Christmas trees. Those colored doilies are beautiful especially the purple one. Are the white petals just attached at their end to the purple? Or how did they exactly make it double sided?

I love old doilies but I never find the deals like you do LOL!! I've never seen a double sided one before - I love it! That wall hanging is beautiful. And what special memories to go with it.

About 7 years ago my dear neighbor and I worked together on this wall quilt.
My dear neighbor, Marie, passed away 2 years later.. so this is my cherished memory of our Sewing days together.

You find the neatest deals, Grace. When I visit we need to go thrifting. I got a lot of doilies when Ed's sister passed away and I want to make a doily table runner with some of them. You could do that, too. Patterns on Pinterest.
That's a great table runner.
I'm hoping to find some goodies at thrift stores in Michigan when we are there.

How fun. I love the colored doilies. The little quiltlet is from an old Debbie Mumm pattern. I made a 9 block wall hanging from the same pattern many moons ago when I was first learning to quilt. Her patterns were (are) so easy to follow and always came out perfect.
