Feeling pretty good now. Had a triple heart bypass. That was a really big surprise, felt fine until a few weeks before. Good now, back to doing all the day to day stuff. I just have to remember to slow down a bit.
Read a lot and made 6 afghans. Been outside playing with my flowers and the kids are over often, and after the long covid we get together with friends again. So all is good. I wrote a card to my heart doctor and thanked him for saving my life.

Nancy Jo, I am so glad you are feeling much better after your surgery!! Thankfully, your doctor caught the problem before there was big damage done to your heart and now are finding a new rhythm again. I am glad you decided to come back here and jump in again with the conversations too!

I love the story of your Dad's afghan from WWII. What an ordeal he endured. The afghan looks very nice over your favorite rocking chair too. I wonder what the story was of the person who actually made it?

This afghan is one of my favorite things. It was given to my Dad when he was in Walter REED Hospital
during World War2. Remember how during Wars years ago Women all over the country made things for the
service men. He lost his leg, and was there at the Hospital for 17 months. Before that he had been a poisoner of War in Germany. He brought the afghan home with him. He then got married, I was born, and he died when I was 8. He was only 36. I had the afghan in a cedar chest and then I thought that was dumb so
I hung it over my favorite rocking chair.
