OK,, so I popped into one of my favorite Thrifts and spotted this, baby changing table..
and thought...paint it,, and it would make a great fabric shelf or craft bin storage unit...
It was only $19.00,,, but,, I did not have room in my car or I would have dragged it home!

BTW,, I also scored 3 lovely unfinished quilt tops,, I will post photos tomorrow or Wednesday...

Grace, that’s a great idea. This reminds me. My neighbor actually found an old crib and turned the slatted sides inward and uses it in her goat pin to feed her goats. Neat way to repurpose.

Great grandmother hand quilted her quilts 1 inch apart. Arthritis prevents me from hand quilting. Up until last year I machine quilted my quilts but halfway through the last big quilt I decided I'm just not able (or don't want to, too lazy, etc.) to do that anymore so they will probably be sent out to a long arm quilter. I'm running out of room for big quilts and have discovered mini-quilts -- they are so much fun and take up a lot less space. The only problem is they don't help use up the stash very fast.

Would you hand quilt them or have them long-armed? I am going to start quilting the smaller lap/baby/smaller quilts on the machine. I did a baby one and used the spray to keep layers together. I just did an X in each 10" square - worked great.

I have three tops my great grandmother made that need to be finished. They are tucked away in the cedar chest so I keep forgetting about them. Someday......

I need to keep an eye out for one. It would make a great plant stand.

Love that, Grace; you have a great idea for it. You should go back and get it. I can't wait to see your quilt tops. I love old quilt tops and have several old quilts I've purchased at antique shops.

I have several old quilt tops I got at a thrift shop that I am going to post on MJF Marketplace. I have enough of my own to get finished and don't have time to finish these.

I had a changing table just like that when I had my babies. I got it real cheap in a thrift store too. You have a really good idea of repurposing it into a fabric shelf too. I agree a coat of paint would make it into something decorative and very useful. It would really work for that same purpose in a number os places where open storage is useful. I can see it as a quilt holder and a kitchen cookware and utensil holder too.
