Hi Ann! Here's the link for North Carolina Flea Markets, and I've pasted the info for the big one in Charlotte below. It's supposed to be one of the best in the Southeast.

Good luck and let me know if it's a good market! I haven't been yet.

You could take a short day trip from Charlotte to caverns... I can't think of which ones, but there are some near Roanoke, and Linville Caverns is off the Blue Ridge Parkway. If your into history, there's Cowpens Battlefield nearby Charlotte, as well as the Overmountain Vicotyr Trail, which runs through the town I live in (Rutherfordton). Not much to see with the trail, but there are markers that indicate battles and that sort of thing. Nearby in Greenville SC, about an hour away, there's a cool zoo, a Riverwalk area and a great downtown center. (That's where I was born and raised.). First and third weekends of the month there's a huge flea and antique market in Charlotte. I have a link for that, if you're interested.

Natalie and Lindy, Thanks for your feedback. I'll check out the trails site when I have a moment. We love Ashville and spent a few days there a few years ago. We will be driving from MI. Natalie, the photos of your farm look great - I agree with Lindy. We are actually staying at my husband's co-worker's place. This friend is a batchelor and always on the road for work, so he offered us his place for spring break. We have always stayed home during spring break, but the whole family is itching for an adventure. I've not looked yet, but am wondering about a botanical garden.

We are half way between Greensboro and Danville VA. I looked up Stanfield on map quest and I am familiar with the area (down 601).
We made many trips to Matthews and would sometimes go 601 . I never have been thru Stanfield though.
Sure come on up for a field trip, I would love to meet another farmgirl.
I went to you blog and ejoyed reading about you and your family.
I think your kids are about the same age as mine (my son is 51/2 and my daughter is almost 3). I am sure they would love meeting!

Ann,
Are you flying in or driving?
Charlotte has some pretty interesting things to see but my favorite place is about 2 hours west of here in Ashville, NC. Biltmore Estate is there and is a great place to visit.

Garliclady, where is Reidsville? I loved your site. I am going to have to make a field trip to your place sometime. Looks great.

Discovery Place (huge science center /omniMax in downtown) is my favorite place in Charlotte. Carowinds theme park may be open by then if you like that sort of thing. Lowes Motor Speedway if you like racing.
