Back in the good ole days when I could leave the house and the thrift store was opened I got this basket for .75 cents. Someone had painted it red. Myself I would not usually paint a basket but this seemed to want to come home with me.
In the 60's here today, going outside to play pretty soon, everything is really green and the leaves are just about out, we even sat on the front porch last night. This crazy world makes the small things seem more important then usual. That's a good thing.

The bright red basket is adorable and as Mary Jane said, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy your bright splash of color and your spring!

Hi Nancy,

I just noticed your city. I wonder how far away you are from me, as my weather is the same as yours.

Love the little red basket. Such a great size-you can do a lot with that. Use it all year. I would put a little hanky in it, or use it at Christmas, or for Fourth of July. So many uses!

I have painted baskets before. It never occurred to me that it was an odd thing to do, lol. I like it painted red. I might have to dig around my closet fo one to paint! I have painted one cream to match my bathroom, and another one pink. That was years ago, but it seems the paint helps the basket hold up longer.

Nancy, I couldn’t agree with you more. This ordeal has given me a lot to think about. Our world is always so busy, fast, and ungrateful. I hope this time is really helping others to remember the small things, enjoy family time again, and be more grateful for what we do have available to us. I hear so many people upset about it all and I can understand, I am stir crazy to, but we need to find some positive in this and rediscover what life is truly about.

I too love the red basket. I use them to take presents to people at Christmas---this would be perfect for that. Good Find for sure.

Nancy...I adore your cute red basket!! I love all things Red/and or Purple!!
They say our April was the 4th driest we have had in years and years but it seemed
like it rained a lot to me. My husband and I were out yesterday and everything was
a beautiful Emerald Green. I half expected to see Rainbows and Shamrocks popping
out everywhere. It was so Beautiful! Still Raining yesterday and today. We are supposed
to get sunshine and in the 80's at the end of the week. I am praying so!

Have a Lovely Day,
Peggy

Nancy Jo, I love anything red so your basket looks adorable to me! It would be great for your porch this Summer all fixed up with Americana kind of stuff. Like you, I am missing the ability to go out and putter around in vintage and thrift stores. It will be wonderful to have the chance to do it again.

Nancy Jo your thrift finds are always lovely. I, like you would not paint a basket but that red really pops!
Would be great for Christmas or anytime you want to add a bit of color somewhere.

Nancy Jo love your red basket. I like touches of red & yellow around my house. Pretty day here - good day for canning but I have to wait on my new hot plate. Should be here by the 7th.

Love the basket! I could see a beautiful plant sitting in there. And at Christmas, oh boy lots of uses. I know what you mean about the good old days too. I love home, but I like being able to go to my favorite stores and poke around and see what is new. Is that a wicker seat that is on? That is so pretty too! Have a great time playing outside!
