HG%^... LOLOL!
I remember while living in New Britian Conn., our Girl Scout troop took a field trip to the Power & Elect., company.. They had a complete kitchen set up including a "RadarRange".. oh how we ohhed and ahhed when we saw the lady demonstrate how fast a package of frozen peas could be cooked up.. She put the box (yes, they came in square waxed boxes back then in 1965.) It was the way of the future!!!
And here we are... tapping our toes as we impatiently wait for a bag of pop corn to fully pop in 2 1/2min! complete with salt and imo fake butter topping lol!

I can't believe this. Nothing is really new. I still can't grasp that microwaves were invented in the 1940's. If I had to invent anything we'd still be living in caves for sure. DUH!!!

I am grateful for the labeling and FDA approval on the products we buy. At least we can read about something and make an informed decision before we use it. AFter WWII. There was a a lot of interest in making foods easier to acquire, cook, and store. Women wanted to move away from the work of growing, preserving and cooking family meals. They were all about new equipment and fast and easy. The interest fueled lots of new products and ideas that were family easy and quick . Think about things like Velveeta cheese, new sugared cereals fort kids, processed dry foods for rices, dries soup mixes, many more canned goods, and more frozen foods you just heat and serve. Remember when Potpies and frozen TV dinners became all the rage? While these foods were convenient, they were full of sugar, fats, salt and preservatives which we now know are unhealthy to consume on a regular basis. But we kids thought that Swanson’s TV fried chicken dinner was the cat’s meow at our house. We only had such things when Mom and Dad were going to be out and it seemed like a treat that we all relished!

Grace...I did not think it went clear back to 1953...that is crazy scary. Well, we know it has only gotten worse over
the years. That is one reason I like to buy from Farmers Markets in the Spring - Autumn months. I trust them more.
