I scored a 1961 Better Homes and Garden magazine, a 1970 House Beautiful magazine and a 1953 SEARS sales catalog..
and for the past 3 days, I have been having fun perusing through them..
Thought you might enjoy some of the ads.

(Debbie... just for you!)

I had no idea about this service..

for us yoyo lovers...

notice the clothpins are made in Denmark and look different from the ones we use.
these are just a few of the many cute ads..

Oh I love that! I have a few”Life” magazines from the 40’s - 60’s, and I love to read them. I also have an old “Farm” magazine from the 50’s. I love the advertisements!

Grace, these are really interesting to look at. My mom has a couple things similar to these that I seen before. I’m not sure if it’s the actual paper or how she has them stored but they have a distinct smell and I can actually “smell” that smell while looking at your pictures. I want to make one of those art puff Afghans. To bad I can order that package anymore! I would order me a couple for that price.

HG56,, I missed a lot of the 1960's... from 1964-66 we lived in the US,, the rest of the '60's we lived in Germany..
Living on Base and moving every other year,,, life was different for us compared to Civilian kids who lived in the same town most of their growing up years.
I guess that is partly why I am fond of all things 'Mid-Century Modern'... that and the clean lines.., but I also love English Country Garden too!

Really nice Grace. Although I don't like the sixties or early seventies stuff at all. It reminds me of being poor in grade school and junior high. I detested high school and was only happy when home on the weekends with The Rolling Stones and my beagle' I was always out roaming the woods with that dog.
