Posted - Oct 15 2019 : 8:11:17 PM I can't say how much I enjoy and how uplifting it is to read all of the comments on here. Farmgirls are wonderful. I'm sure Darlene is feeling loved. It must be hard to be away from family when you are going through tough times. It must be lonely so getting all the mail and well wishes is special to her. I think I will get her some of the gossip rags. I love reading them when I don't feel well. They always make for a fun read and a good laugh. Farmgirl 7774 Never miss a sunset

Posted - Oct 14 2019 : 06:43:13 AM Thank-you Debbie for the latest update and photo of Darlene. It was good to see her smiling and know that she is hanging in there. I was also glad to hear that the knee surgery will be coming in a few weeks so that she can move on and get rid of so much pain and be able to start standing and using a walker to begin getting around. She has been a trooper through all of this and I so happy to know that our Farmgirl mail is getting to her and brightening her days.

Posted - Oct 12 2019 : 08:19:03 AM Yes, she will be there until her total knee replacement, so it will be a few more weeks. It is difficult because she has no family close.

Posted - Oct 11 2019 : 6:43:01 PM Finally got a card made out and wrote her a Letter. I had thought about doing a prayer shawl for her...so I am Happy to see someone else already sent her one. Way to go Marcy!! I have met Marlene in person and I can say that is an Adorable picture of her. She looks just like that...minus the flowers and balloon. LOL I must say that leg brace looks like it would be really uncomfortable! Debbie did she tell you how long she will be there. And did I also hear correctly that she has something else that needs done to her body after this ordeal???
Thanks for the update all!!!
Love and Hugs, Peggy

I just got off the phone from talking with Darlene. Yes, they do have electricity at the hospital. She sounded good and really perked up when I told her who I was. She is still in so much pain and she said they put the brace back on her knee which she does not like. The food is okay she said there is just some things she does not eat. She said to thank everyone for the cards, clothes, flowers etc. it means so much to her all the mail. She truly does enjoy all the cards and letters. Her daughter took a real cute and sweet photo of Darlene when she visited and I ask if I could share it with all of you and she said yes. She joked and said the next time her daughter takes a picture she is going to cover her face. I told her this was a good photo as she was smiling. So I will pull it up and post it.
