Kathy, sorry about that! When I signed up I didn't realize there wasn't a PM feature on this website. I just changed it so I can get emails Barntootin is cute! Not sure why it wouldn't allow you to leave a comment...but I've had that happen a couple of times with blogger, too; sometimes it tells me I'm not using the correct username, (after it logs me in, lol!)

MB, you can go ahead and email me the pics (now that I've got it working!)

I'll 'unveil' the new blog come morning Plus, the winner of the drawing for the barn notecards (if you haven't left a comment yet, better hurry up and do so!)

Well, Tracey, I am probably too late to throw in a suggestion but your blog page wouldn't let me leave a comment and your profile here doesn't have an email address. So, if I am not too late how about "Barntootin'"
Just an idea, have a good one and I would be interested to know if you have your soaps for sale posted anywhere.
Thanks
Kathy

Now that's circular reasoning if I ever heard it...what were they painting red before they were painting red barns???

Nope, not mine. It's cute though, isn't it? But leaning, which isn't very evident from the vantage point I was at; too many cars that afternoon.

This sounds silly (and oh-so-obvious) but the reason why so many barns were/are painted red is because red barn paint is cheaper. Now why do you think red barn paint is cheaper???

Because so many people buy it.

I know silly, but I got this right from an old guy that ran a little hardware store that asked the question of his Dad when he had the little hardware store.

Nice barn, BTW - is it yours?

I think we are all drawn to barns, because of what they represent: wholesome, hardwork, clean country living, a simpler, slower pace of life. My senses are all aroused in barns . . . the sweet aroma of hay and straw, even the smell of livestock, the quiet settings they rest in are a feast for my eyes and I enjoy listening to the gentle moos and oinks of livestock and the happy chirps of barn swallows. Some people may long for castles and mansions . . . give me a barn any day!

There's a site where I found one theory on why so many barns are painted red, the site also has a lot of interesting things about barns.

Barns are grand, aren't they? Have you ever wondered why they get painted red so often? We have some that are white, and a few that are yellow...but most of the old barns are red.

New barn pics are up on the blog, plus Taffy's Teat (I know you've just been dying to see that!) and the rest of the soap pictures...

I think that picture of the barn is beautiful. What is it about barns that tug at the heart?
