For months now, as in almost 8 or 9, I have been wanting to minimalize as much as I can. This week, I did it!

I gave away over 40% of what we had in this house to an animal rescue for their annual yard sale. I feel so free!

I am heading down many new adventures in my life and I need to clean out, be simple and be organized. I do not do well in chaos.

I was going to have a yardsale but the effort is not worth the reward. I am hoping karma will come back to me in some form at some point. : )

All I have left to do is clean the house, top to bottom deep clean and put things back. I am beyond excited! I have room in my closets, space in my cabinets and cleaning is a lot easier!!!

Keep it up Denise! I have truly hit my simplest living ever, even with the kiddo and the hubby. It's been day by day now, little things here and there. I have not missed anything yet!

Heading down this road myself. I know how freeing it feels and I'm getting there. I have 3 others living here besides dh and I and it gets frustrating because I cannot rid my spaces of their things so...
But one is leaving soon so that will make it easier to clean out another room.

Awesome...I've done similar. We lived in a very small rv for two years ( 2 adults, an 11 yr. old and a dog and 2 cats) while our home was being built and in that time all our household items were packed in boxes and stored in the shop. When the house was done and I began to unpack boxes, I found I could live without so many items!!! It was so freeing! I donated much and sold little but so much is gone now and I am almost clutter free in our home not to mention living as simplistic as possible and my daughter learned a valuable lesson too! So CONGRATS!!!!!

How to purge- put like with like---all long sleeve shirt, all shorts, all pants, all pens, all plant holders...then sort...it will give you an idea of how much you really have of an item and it's easier to sort out the one's you love. I found I also saw a pattern in my personal style and could weed out the things that just did not fit, whether it was a dish, a shirt or a picture frame.

CLothing- I donated over 50%...I now have some dresses, 6 boots (various styles- I love boots), 2 flats, 8 flip flops (I LIVE in flip flops), a few cute tops, 5 jeans, 4-5 pairs of chino pants, 4 coats, 1 jacket, 1 pair of fancy pants, 4 button downs, 5 flannels, 5 fleece (I do not wear sweaters), pj's, some workout stuff, sneakers, undergarments, socks, 3 scarves, 5 various bags/purses, 1 suitcase, 3 various travel bags for makeup and things, small amount of jewelry, 3 various hats (winter, cowgirl, sunhat), 3 pairs of sunglasses (1 pair is for dirty work, painting, sanding, just working in the garden)

And it all fits in a regular size closet and 3 dresser drawers. YEE HAW!!!
