I remember when,,, mom would take sis and I to Woolworths and to the market,,, and out front would be 1-2 of the little "rides"...
cars, planes, horses and mini Merry-go-rounds...
Alas I am to old to ride them,, and my grand-kiddos live 2 states away... but guess what I saw yesterday???

Oh My Stars,,, my grand-son would love this!

and look-it..

only .25cents....

The older we get the better we can pull it off. They just think we're crazy anyway! LOL! Do it Grace!

Do it Grace! I would if we had them here. What great fun it would be to take a day and just do everything we want that we did as a kid! Wonder how old we'd have to be to get away with that?

Do it Grace! If I had any of those here I would be riding one too! Just make sure to share a picture of you riding it! It's been so long since I have seen them, and actually forgot about them. If that tonka truck was here I would have my son ride it, even though I would probably find more joy out of it then he would!

Look out Grace, someone with a camera will make you a YouTube sensation. That's before they haul you off! LOL!

I remember being told I was to old for the rides,, but would be allowed to ride in the car/Merry-go-round with my sister,,, looking back,, I think it was because mother only had enough money for groceries and probably barely had enough money (even at a nickel) to let us each ride by ourselves.. But all things considered,, I am not scared or dysfunctional from the experience! lol!
ok, maybe I am,,, cuz I am thinking about going back over there in the evening when no one is around and ride it,,, several times!!!
snork, giggles!

Love them! They don't have them here anymore but where my daughter lives they still have the horse rides for a penny. The grand girls enjoy it.

Gracie...where my grandson (age 3) gets his hair cut...they have all kinds of ride's like that...and even the chairs
they sit in are police cars, race cars etc. The hair cut ones do not move but they can pretend like they are driving
while getting their hair cut. It is a great distraction for the young ones who really don't want a hair cut. LOL
They make things so much more entertaining for kids these days. Whether that is good or bad I don't really know
but I know they LOVE IT!

hugs and smiles,
Peggy

don't think I wasn't tempted to jump in and drop a quarter in the slot! but some of the clerks know me,, and this would only give cause for them to think I have gone 'over the edge'... lolol!

Oh my goodness, Gracie! My son would've gone ga-ga over that, too! :) A K-mart not too far from here still has rides like this. When I see them, I still get that urge to ask my Mom for a quarter, too. ;) Now I'm looking forward to the day we have grandchildren so I can ride with them on the Christmas train at the mall! LOL! (No rush... Just looking forward to it!) Hugs - Nini

I remember them, too! We used to have some my dd would ride inside the mall, but those have vanished now, too. (She's in high school now).

That looks cool and what a brilliant idea of using a tonka toy truck to draw in those kids!
